FOOD OR WORMS?: Anna Duggar brutally trolled for serving 'maggots-like' breakfast to her kids
'The Duggar Family' critics have expressed their displeasure over Anna serving her kids with what some viewers thought to be ‘maggots’ for breakfast. Anna, 34, had previously posted images of freshly homemade hash browns on Instagram. She showed the fried potatoes sitting in the pan and then served them in rainbow-colored bowls to her seven children.
In the caption, the former ‘Counting On’ star wrote, “As a child, I remember waking up to the smell of breakfast! There was just something about wandering into the kitchen and seeing my mom tossing shredded potatoes on a cast iron skillet, with scrambled eggs in another skillet and some fresh blueberries on the side! My sister was at the counter juicing a seemingly endless amount of fresh Florida oranges given to us by a friend before a rare freeze would have ruined them!”

“When I think comfort food, these are the sights & smells that come to my mind! And since it’s freezing and icy outside here, I figured it was a good day for us to have some “comfort food” for lunch! There are just no other hash browns like the ones my momma made in her cast iron skillet! P.S. Any tips for cooking with cast iron? I tend to burn everything and it sticks to pan so I’ve resorted to using nonstick skillets most of the time.... any tips from you pros out there would be appreciated!” the caption added.
Many on social media, however, were not so impressed with the photos of the homemade food. One person wrote in all caps, “WHAT ARE YOU HAVING ANNA ???” “Did you prepare worms, Anna? I legit thought this was maggots or worms,” another added. Someone wrote, “All I see is larvae. If I presented that to anyone in my family, they’d insist I threw it out.” “I could not eat these,” yet another person remarked.
However, not all the comments were so harsh. Many people gave Anna cooking tips to prepare better meals. One person wrote, “Best advice I’ve received is to cook low and slow. Always add oil. Cast iron retains heat better than most so that’s why you can cook on a lower temp. Make sure that your pans are seasoned well too. I recently switched over to all cast iron and enameled cast iron. Keep using the pans and don’t give up.” “Sweet memories! I have no advice. I’m afraid of cast iron for the same reason!” another user added.

Someone wrote, “Lower heat and make sure your cast iron pan is seasoned really good!” “Im from Canada and had to look at it close up. Kinda cool, seeing how the same dishes could look totally different from region to region. ❤️,” yet another person remarked.
Meanwhile, according to US Magazine, Anna is trying to preserve her family after learning that her husband will serve a 12-year prison term. Josh, 34, was found guilty of having and receiving child pornography in December 2021 and received a sentence of 151 months. Josh and Anna have seven kids together -- Mackynzie, 12; Michael, 11; Marcus, nine; Meredith, six; Mason, four; Maryella, two; and newborn Madyson.
