Cristiano Ronaldo sparks engagement rumors after girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez says 'YESSS' on Instagram post
Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are now rumored to be engaged. The longtime couple shared a romantic snap on Instagram, declaring that their relationship has now gone to the next level.
"YESSS," Georgina wrote while captioning a picture of herself with Cristiano and added a red rose emoji. The 35-year-old athlete posted the same picture with the caption, "Mi Amor." For the picture, the 26-year-old model slipped into a red hot dress with a corset bodice, with net sleeves and a deep neckline.
Georgina and Ronaldo were spotted on a string of dates towards the end of 2016. The couple has been dating for almost four years now and they are still going strong. In an interview with The Sun, Rodriguez recalled, "Our first meeting was at Gucci, where I worked as a sales assistant. Days later we saw each other again at another brand’s event. It was then that we could talk in a relaxed atmosphere, outside of my work environment. It was love at first sight for both."
They started dating a few months after Ronaldo was caught cuddling up with Cassandre Davis in August 2016. Rumors of Ronaldo's relationship with Rodriguez started doing the rounds in November 2016 when they were snapped walking arm in arm in Disneyland, Paris. On November 12, 2017, the couple welcomed their first daughter Alana Martina and posted a picture captioned, "Alana Martina is just born! Both Geo and Alana are doing great! We are all very happy!" As soon as the picture was posted on Instagram, it became one of the most-liked Instagram photos of 2017 after clocking up over 11M likes.

Apart from Alana, Ronaldo also has two twin children reportedly through a surrogate mother in June 2017. He is also the father to nine-year-old son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. According to a Sun's report, back in 2017, at the launch of his new clothing line, Ronaldo said, "Being a father is a unique and personal journey, something that has changed me completely. I can’t wait to be a dad again. Being a father and seeing my family grow is, without doubt, the greatest privilege I’ve had. Spending time with them, being by their side, smiling and laughing with them. They’ve brought a lot of happiness and joy to my life."
In 2019, he opened up about his relationship in a candid interview with ITV and said, "She helped me so much. Of course, I'm in love with her," Cristiano told Piers Morgan. "We'll be (married) one day, for sure." He added, "It's my mom's dream as well. So, one day. Why not? It's great. She's my friend. We have conversations. I open the heart for her and she opens the heart for me."
In February 2019, there were rumors that the couple allegedly got engaged. Rodriguez clarified the rumors in an interview with Spain’s Hola! Magazine, as she said, "Every couple wants to get married and I would love to personally. Right now we have priorities and a lot of responsibilities, although in the future it would be marvelous to become Cristiano’s wife." And now, after more than a year, the couple made it quite clear that the wedding bells will be heard soon by all their fans.
