Craig Mevlin’s son poses with cast on leg as ‘Today’ host celebrates milestone in children’s life
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin has shared a few rare snaps with his children on their first day of school on his Instagram.
The 44-year-old NBC journalist excitedly shared this huge landmark in the lives of his children, six-year-old daughter Sybil and nine-year-old son Delano.
Although many spotted a cast on Delano’s leg and inquired about the reason for Melvin’s son being injured, the host simply replied with, “Long story.”
The ‘Today’ host looked past his son’s injury on the monumental day and shared a few smiling snaps as the children dressed up for their first day of school after a long summer break.

‘Today’ host Craig Melvin shares landmark moment in children’s lives with fans
Melvin’s post caught the attention of many fans. In the post, the ‘Today’ host snapped his children standing outside of their house as they said goodbye to summer break.
In the first photo, Craig posed alongside his wife Lindsay Czarniak, and their children Delano and Sybil.
Both the TV personalities, Melvin and Czarniak, had wide smiles on their faces as they proudly crouched down alongside their children, dressed casually in jeans and t-shirts.
Sybil held a blackboard that said, "First day of 1st grade," wearing an adorable dress, and colorful shoes, sporting a nervous smile.
Melvin’s son, Delano, held a sign reading, "First day of fourth grade," but had a cast on his left leg. This did not curb his excitement as he grinned for the photo.
Melvin shared all the photos on his Instagram account and captioned the post, “Well…they’re off. We have a first and fourth grader."
The ‘Today’ host also addressed his son’s injured leg and added, “Yes, that’s a boot on Delano. Long story.”
Fans jumped in to congratulate and boost the confidence of Melvin’s children on the first day of their school.
One wrote, “COULD NOT BE CUTER,” while another said, “Wishing them a great first day and wonderful year!”
A third empathized with Melvin’s son and said, “I feel his pain!” while a fourth added, “Aww. Once again, the parents appear elated at the start of another year, while the kiddos look like they need one more week or two.”
Craig Melvin skipped ‘Today’ to spend time with his children
Earlier in August 2023, Melvin was absent from one of the broadcasts just returning from a vacation with his family.
Although his whereabouts were not known, Czarniak, Melvin’s wife revealed the reason for his absence.
On Instagram, she posted a photo of herself, Craig, and their two children, along with the caption, "Everyone needs s’more time to be together. Recharged after a long weekend away with the fam."
