Nick Cordero's wife Amanda Kloots says he was 'resuscitated' due to COVID-19 complications, but she's 'hopeful'

Broadway actor Nick Cordero, who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, continues to be in critical condition despite having shown signs of recovery recently. But his wife Amanda Kloots remains hopeful for his return.

In a recent Instagram post, Kloots shared how thankful she was for the support and love pouring in for Nick and added that when she facetimed him for the first time in 12 days since she dropped him off at ER, she pushed him to fight. "I told him he is strong and can do this. I said, “You got a whole lot of living to do!,” Amanda further wrote.

However, doctors are still concerned about his right leg and they need to "start making small responses off sedation," she updated Nick's admirers on the photo-blogging site. There was a blockage of blood flow to his leg, which required immediate surgery. After the due medical procedure, the medical team had to resuscitate him.

"We had really great progress and then yesterday I got a phone call saying that he had an infection in his lungs. That caused his fever to spike way above normal, which caused his blood pressure to drop, which caused his heart to go to an irregular pattern. He lost consciousness, he lost his pulse and they had to resuscitate him," Kloots explained in her Instagram stories

Nick's heart and lungs are now functioning with the help of a machine and his kidneys require dialysis.

But the series of events hasn't caused Amanda to lose hope. She is confident Nick will return, which is why she continues to make videos of their 10-month old son, Elvis, so that he can watch them once he is awake and feels as though he hasn't missed a moment. "Everyday I film a home video for Nick. I send it to his phone so that when he wakes up he can watch them and feel like he’s been with Elvis and I everyday," she wrote in her post.

Nick was diagnosed with pneumonia in late March and a week after he fell unconscious. At the time, the couple was waiting on the test results for COVID-19, which returned as positive several days later.
