Lauren Duggar sat down with her mother Lana and mother-in-law Michelle in this week's episode. The reality star opened up about the emotions that she went through after she suffered a miscarriage in October 2018. She felt that she could best share her emotions with Lana and Michelle as the two had experienced a miscarriage in the past.

Michelle reflected how losing a child drains one emotionally. “Having the baby there that you could hold while you’re missing the baby that you can’t hold is so different than being an empty crib, no baby to show for the sorrow, the pain, that you’re walking through,” she said. “I just can’t even imagine, Lauren.”

Even though Lauren and her husband, Josiah could not hold their child, they made sure that they remembered her. They chose to name her Asa, which means “living one” and “healer.” The pair also created a box of memories that included the shirt that Lauren wore for the announcement and the letter that the pair wrote for their daughter.

Lauren added that it had been hard for the past couple of months but she was trying to be grateful even though going through something so hard. Meanwhile, Jessa Duggar, who was pregnant at the time of filming, revealed her thoughts on Lauren and her miscarriage. "There can be a tendency as a pregnant lady to complain and then to see Lauren, having lost that…it makes me more aware of the words that I speak. I honestly don’t even know how she does it sometimes," she said.

She further added, " She’s always asking me, ‘How are you feeling?’ and ‘What are you experiencing?’ and ‘How’s the baby?’ It brings tears to your eyes. And I’m just like, ‘I don’t know how you have the strength to do this, in the midst of everything you’re going through.’ She just has said, ‘We’re so thankful that God has blessed y’all with another baby."

Lauren and Josiah are trying to move on with what happened and are focusing on the future. They are sure that God has something better planned for them and as of now, they are counting their blessings.

'Counting On' airs every Tuesdays at 9 pm on TLC.
