Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and civil advocate Colin Kaepernick has said that revolution is "the only logical reaction" to the violent arrest and death of George Floyd. Three days after Floyd's death, Kaepernick took to Twitter to share on Thursday, May 28, "When civility leads to death, revolting is the only logical reaction. The cries for peace will rain down, and when they do, they will land on deaf ears, because your violence has brought this resistance. We have the right to fight back! Rest in Power George Floyd."

Social media users were left divided with some saying that no one had the right to destroy someone else's property but did seem to agree that the cops responsible need to be in prison. One such user shared, "Yeah I don't get the destruction of other people’s businesses that are completely uninvolved. Weird to destroy your own city. Cops need to spend a long time in prison though."

"Maybe if they had arrested the killer on the spot like ANYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE, then there wouldn’t be any burning buildings. Just a thought," commented a second user. "Its awful what that cop did an I hope it ends with him in jail. but how does setting a target on fire help anything?" shared another. "What happened with George Floyd is a disgrace and is a horrendous state of affairs. Protesting violence is comprehensible but doing so with violence by destroying and stealing property does not better the circumstances. Just adds fuel to a fire that is already burning," shared a user.

A white police officer, Derek Chauvin, was seen kneeling over the neck of Floyd for over eight minutes even after Floyd repeatedly said that he was unable to breathe. The four police officers involved in the case were fired as FBI and state officials launched an investigation into the 46-year-old's death after a video of the incident went viral.

The four cops who were involved have been identified as Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J Alexander Kueng. Floyd had been arrested by the four for allegedly using forged documents at a local deli.

Two of Floyd's cousins said the cops "murdered our cousin" and that firing those involved was just a "start", according to our previous report. The family lawyer has called for the cop in question, Derek Chauvin, to be charged with murder and the other three officers involved to be charged as murder accomplices. In the shocking video clip that went viral on social media, Floyd can be heard pleading, "Please, Please, please I can't breathe" as the officers pay no heed. He repeatedly asked them to stop but eventually lost consciousness.

Floyd later lost his life. The four disgraced police officers were from the Minneapolis Police Department and have been fired as a result of the incident. As outrage sparked and tensions heightened over the death of 46-year-old George Floyd, protesters stormed into a police precinct and set it on fire. The Minneapolis Police Department's 3rd precinct was seen up in flames on Thursday, May 28, night. While fire alarms were heard going off in the background, protesters could be heard chanting, "What's his name? George Floyd!" as fireworks shot up into the air.
