SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: In a heartfelt post on Instagram on Thursday, March 2, Coleman 'Coley' Laffoon, the American real estate broker and ex-husband of 'What Remains' star Anne Heche, paid tribute to the late actress on the occasion of her son Homer's 21st birthday. In the lengthy message, Laffoon first emphasized the strong bond that unites the father-son duo, saying, "21 years goes fast. Before you know it, the journey of a lifetime has become two lives. Intertwined, inseparable in the sense that what is in one is in the other. Homer is in me, as much as I'm in him. It's baked in."

Giving his followers a sneak peak of their trip, Laffoon further continued, “We're spending two nights in San Fran, a father-son trip celebrating this symbolic passage into adulthood.” Talking about how Homer recuperated with his mother’s untimely death in a deadly car-crash in August, 2022, the boutique realtor said, “He's come through his challenges on his terms. Can't ask for much more. Has a promising new job, great friends, is a loving son and brother. Hopefully that is conveyed in thr faces in the pictures here. He's doing great and it feels so good.”

Commemorating the late Emmy Award winning actress, Laffoon said, “Impossible not to close my eyes and think of @anneheche zooming around the cosmos, swinging by Northern California, smiling her knowing and still vulnerable smile as she races past. He's good Anne.” He also penned a ‘thank you’ note to her saying, “Thank you for trusting him to me. It's going to keep being great. I promise.”

He also made a heartfelt thank you note to his present wife, Alexandra ‘Alexi’ Luger, with whom he shares three children for making this trip happen, “Special thank you to @thesoulshineschool for holding down the fort in her third trimester with three small children at home because she believes in this father son time and supports us with every fiber of her heart and body. As my my mom says, "we are LUCKY to have Alexi in our lives."”

He also didn’t forget to make his followers anticipate another series of posts from the heart-warming father-son trip, “Finally, fair warning, we have a great day planned and I can't promise there wont be another photo dump.” He ended the post by thanking his followers for unconditionally supporting him in their journey, “To everyone else, thanks for being part of this ride. We're all intertwined and I'm so glad.”

What happened to Anne Heche?

On August 5, 2022, the 53-year-old late actress was involved in a horrific car crash. The former 'The Last World' actress was driving a blue Mini Cooper that crashed into a home in the 1700 block of South Walgrove Ave and burst into flames. The actress was in a coma until she was officially pronounced dead on August 11. However, her heart continued to beat till August 14 so that her request for a posthumous organ donation could be granted.

On her death, Laffoon penned a moving eulogy for his late wife, Heche, "I like to think she's free, free from pain and enjoying or experiencing whatever is next in her journey. She came in hot and she had a lot to say. She was brave and fearless, loved really hard and was never afraid to let us know what she thinks and what she believed in." He didn’t shy away from showing his love too, “I loved her and I miss her, and I'm always going to.”

He further added, "It was always love, it was all about love. So, goodbye Anne. Love you, thank you. Thank you for all the good times, there were so many. See you on the other side, and in the meantime, I got our son. He'll be fine. Love you."

Who is Homer Laffoon?

Anne Heche's older son, a college student, was named general administrator of Heche's estate after a legal battle with Heche's ex-partner James Tupper, with whom Heche has another son, Atlas, 13. In January 2023, Homer was found speaking about his mother's posthumous memoir, 'Call Me Anne.' At the time, he said, "Never imagined I'd find myself responsible for mom's IG account, but here we are." His Instagram post also included an image of the book cover.

He thanked the general public by saying, "First things first, from August to now, the amount of love, care and support shown by those on social media and IRL has been overwhelming and blessedly received — thank you," before continuing, "One day at a time is working for me as I'm sure the healing journey will be a long one. Your good thoughts and well wishes will continue to comfort me on my path."
