NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: The funeral of 61-year-old Cindy ‘CiCi’ Peak, who was among the six people killed by former transgender student Audrey Hale, 28, at the Covenant School shooting in Nashville on March 27, was held on April 1. She was remembered as a mother who loved her family, and a longtime "spitfire" educator who had “strong opinions and great advice.”

According to NBC News, Peak’s funeral at Christ Presbyterian Church was attended by hundreds. Talking about her, pastor Scott Sauls said during the service that Peak "invested her life fully in the encouragement of others." He said that her three favorite roles were those of a mother, a wife, and a teacher. "We will never stop missing her," he expressed. Peak’s funeral took place after Evelyn Dieckhaus, one of three nine-year-olds killed during the mass shoot, was buried on March 31.
