'Please hurry, I'm hearing more shots': Police release frantic 911 calls from Nashville school shooting
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Authorities have released 911 calls they received amid the Nashville school shooting. The department reported a shooter inside the premises who ultimately killed three children and three adults. The desperate callers were heard begging for help with voices of sirens, crying, and gunfire in the background.
The attack took place on Monday, March 27, at The Covenant School in Nashville. In one of the calls, the caller tells a dispatcher that he is with a group of people, including seven children, and informs that they all are walking away from the Christian school towards a mini road. While he remained calm while talking, confusion was clearly evident in his frantic voice. The policeman asks for the description of the shooter and then the caller hands over the phone to another man. The second man told the police, "All I saw was a man holding an assault rifle shooting through the door. It was like he's currently in the second-grade hallway, upstairs." The second man then told the police that "the assailant was dressed in camouflage and was wearing a vest.”
