NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Authorities have released 911 calls they received amid the Nashville school shooting. The department reported a shooter inside the premises who ultimately killed three children and three adults. The desperate callers were heard begging for help with voices of sirens, crying, and gunfire in the background.

The attack took place on Monday, March 27, at The Covenant School in Nashville. In one of the calls, the caller tells a dispatcher that he is with a group of people, including seven children, and informs that they all are walking away from the Christian school towards a mini road. While he remained calm while talking, confusion was clearly evident in his frantic voice. The policeman asks for the description of the shooter and then the caller hands over the phone to another man. The second man told the police, "All I saw was a man holding an assault rifle shooting through the door. It was like he's currently in the second-grade hallway, upstairs." The second man then told the police that "the assailant was dressed in camouflage and was wearing a vest.”

'I'm hearing more shots'

When asked about the number of shots that were fired, the second caller replied,  "I heard about 10 and I left the building." Another caller told a dispatcher that she could hear gunshots as she hid in an art classroom closet, "It sounds like somebody is shooting guns," the caller said in the recording while the time was just before 10.13 am. She then shared that the gunshots stopped abruptly. The dispatcher asked her whether she is a safe spot and told her two other callers had called regarding gunshots at the school. She responds, "I think so, "while the children can be heard in the background. The teacher immediately adds, "I'm hearing more shots. Please hurry."

'I think we have a shooter at our church'

One of the callers said that he was in a room on the second floor, requesting the dispatcher to send help. "I think we have a shooter at our church. I'm on the second floor in a room. I think the shooter is on the second floor." The officials were able to put down the shooter within 14 minutes after receiving a report of the school shooting, reports CBS News.
