K-pop singer Chungha tests positive for Covid-19, solo artiste promises to return with first-full length album

‘Dream of You’ singer and K-pop solo artiste Chungha aka Kim Chung Ha has tested positive for Covid-19 just weeks from her first full-length album release in January 2021. Chungha shared a touching letter with fans after the news surfaced to reassure them and apologized for falling sick.

She wrote in a fan-cafe post, "Byulharangs, I'm writing because you might be worrying too much if you don't hear anything from me ~ I'm so sorry. I tried my best to stay safe but I guess that wasn't good enough. I just got the results back so it was also a surprise to me. I promise I'll comeback promoting with my healthy self! Byulharangs, please be careful and stay safe! Don't worry about me too much and let's meet soon!!<3<3 I'm sorry once again."

Chungha’s agency MNH Entertainment shared that the ‘Stay Tonight’ singer voluntarily got tested after she came in contact with a confirmed case. Chungha, who was currently preparing for her latest comeback, ‘Querencia’, her first full-length album, will be halting all promotional activities for now.

It further said, “she is taking the necessary measures instructed by health authorities. The agency’s artistes and staff who have crossed paths with Chungha have been tested or will be tested, and we will take follow-up measures as necessary once we [receive the results]. The agency will actively cooperate with the government’s policies and disinfect the headquarters, perform a general inspection for further potential infection, and do our best to manage all of our artistes.”

Fans have been pouring support for the 24-year-old K-pop sensation on social media. A fan wrote, “I feel bad bc i know she wanted to promote the song more,,, but her safety is more important.” Another said, "its already been a year of promotion for the album now its gonna take even longer anskskfh. hope she feels better soon.” A user said, “Hope one day artistes will stop apologizing about something out of their control. get well soon.”



 



 



 


Chungha recently released a stunning single ‘Dream of You’ with collaboration with R3hab as part of her new signing contract with 88rising on November 27. Her comeback album ‘Querencia’ is slated to release on January 4, 2021 and the latest teaser dropped on December 7 for her music video ‘X’ which is set to drop on December 10.
