'Mad Men' star Christina Hendricks has filed for divorce from her husband  Geoffrey Arend after a decade of marriage.

The actress filed for divorce on Friday, December 14, in the Los Angeles County Court and cited "irreconcilable differences" in the documents as her reason for the split. She listed their date of separation as April 19, 2019.

Hendricks also wished to restore her last name and requested the court to terminate the ability to award either party spousal support. Additionally, she wants them to handle attorney fees separately as well.

It was in October 2019 that the couple had announced their separation in a joint statement in an Instagram post. "Twelve years ago we fell on love and became partners. We joined our two amazing families, had countless laughs, made wonderful friends and were blessed with incredible opportunities. Today we take our next step together, but on separate paths. We will always be grateful for the love we’ve shared and will always work together to raise our two beautiful dogs," Hendricks wrote at the time.

They had asked for space to "rediscover" themselves.

"We will be taking time to rediscover ourselves in this transition," the couple said. "We thank you for your patience and support in giving us the space to do so."

The couple tied the knot in New York on October 11, 2009, and have no children together. In a 2014 interview, the actress had noted that the couple did not wish to have any children of their own. "We got a puppy, that's my idea of starting a family," she had said at the time.

"It seems like it's expected that you'd want to have kids," Hendricks had said. "It's just very normal for people to say, 'Well, when you guys have kids...' And then when I say, 'Actually I don't think we're going to do that,' people will say, 'Oh, you say that now...' It doesn't bother me, though. And, you know, there's a small chance I could change my mind."

Hendricks and Arend were introduced by her 'Mad Men' co-star Vincent Kartheiser.
