Grammy award-winning Christian rapper TobyMac's 21-year-old son Truett Foster McKeehan reportedly died at their Nashville home on October 23, a representative confirmed. The cause of the sudden demise has not yet been ascertained.

The rapper's representative released a statement confirming the shocking news, saying: "Truett did pass away at home in the Nashville area sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning."

McKeehan, an aspiring rapper, who performed as Shiloh, truDog, and TRU had collaborated with his father on tracks. He was TobyMac's eldest child, according to USA Today.

The 21-year-old's death was also confirmed by the Davidson County Medical Examiner's office, which said McKeehan passed away on Wednesday.

Reports state that TobyMac, who was in the middle of his week-long tour in Canada at the time of his son's death, left it immediately after the news of the tragedy broke, to be with his wife and children.

"Cause of death has not been determined. Toby was traveling back from Canada and did not get home to be with his family until after midnight last night so there is no statement", the statement from the rapper's representative said. "We just ask that everyone please be respectful of their privacy during this time and allow them to grieve their loss."

Truett's last Instagram post was a video of himself performing nearly five days ago as he wrote in the caption: "Last night it all kinda came together... thank you to everyone who has supported me through the thick and thin."

TobyMac's representatives wrote a message this week to his fans in Canada, saying: "A recent situation has caused us to have to stop the TobyMac Canadian tour today. This morning Toby received information of an emergency in his family, and he will be flying home to Nashville immediately."

TobyMac, in a track about his relationship with his son after he left home, rapped: "Now you won’t take my phone calls, You won’t text me back at all, I just wanna see you, I can’t stand to see you gone."
