In 'Onward,' Chris Pratt and Tom Holland play two brothers who support each other on a fantastical journey. That support apparently extends to their relationship in real life as well and Tom Holland reveals that Chris Pratt was very encouraging of Holland when the latter's career was going through a rocky phase.

Marvel and Sony's deal regarding the rights to 'Spider-Man' had fallen through - which would have meant that there would be no more 'Spider-Man' in the MCU. It was a huge blow to Holland. It all happened while the actor was at D23.

Holland was asked about it at a red carpet premiere for 'Onward' on the night of February 18. In response to the questions, he pointed to Chris Pratt as his "superhero" at that time.

"You know, everyone was really supportive. Obviously everyone, but Chris and I were standing backstage [at D23] together before we were called out on stage," the actor told a Variety reporter. "I was telling him the news and he hadn't heard it yet and he was like, 'no, that's not gonna happen. That's not gonna happen. They're going to figure it out and if not, you'll be great. You'll be fine.' so it was just really nice to have him in my corner because he's something I really look up to and someone I really appreciate and I'm glad that we're good buddies."

The two stars worked together in the MCU for 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame', which saw multiple team-ups from across the MCU, including Pratt's Star-Lord and Holland's Spider-Man. Sony and Marvel eventually reached an agreement that allows Spider-Man to remain in the MCU, proving Chris Pratt was right about them figuring it out.

'Onward' releases in theaters on March 6, and the next, untitled 'Spider-Man' film is set to release in the summer of 2021.
