Chris Lane and former 'Bachelor' star Lauren Bushnell get engaged after country singer proposes in her family's backyard
Country singer Chris Lane proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Bushnell, the former 'Bachelor' star, Sunday at the backyard of her family residence in Oregon. Bushnell shared the happy news on her social media handle to write that she couldn't stop smiling.
According to the Instagram post, she wrote, "I can't stop smiling. I feel so incredibly blessed that every misstep, mistake and heartache has led me to you. I couldn't be happier to call you mine, forever. The journey was well worth it. Thank you Christopher Eric Lane for softening my heart and making it whole. Never going to stop telling you how much I love you and I will hold onto you forever and ever! Lauren Lane has a nice ring to it."
She also noted that Lane wrote a song for her, which she linked in the bio. In an interview with People, the 34-year-old musician said he was confident about Bushnell accepting the proposal. He said, "I knew she wouldn't want some elaborate crazy proposal. So, I decided to keep it pretty casual. I asked her parents for different places in Portland I could potentially take her to, but after a lot of thought, I decided doing it at the family cookout would be the most laid-back setting and that she'd appreciate the simplicity of me proposing to her in her parents' backyard."
He wrote his 29-year-old fiance a song titled, 'Big, Big Plans' and as he sang, "Right now we're back in her hometown / and I'm down on one knee," he put word into action. On hearing the lyrics, it all started to get very real for Bushnell. “I lost it,” she told People. “It was the happiest moment of my life!”
