Is Chris Evans dating Shakira? Actor says he is 'laser-focussed on finding life-long partner'

The two stars have reportedly been following each other on social media after Shakira's break up

Following Shakira’s break up with Gerard Piqué, there are many who want to see the Colombian singer dating Chris Evans. Rumors of a romance between the two celebrities first started when the 45-year-old ‘Waka Waka’ singer reportedly followed the actor on Instagram and in return, Evans followed her back.

Now, a recent statement made by the ‘Captain America: First Avenger’ star has added fuel to fire. During a conversation with Shondaland, Chris Evans, who is playing a character of an assassin obsessed with finding his target in Netflix’s upcoming ‘The Gray Man’, was asked if he’s "laser focused" on finding something in his personal life too, he replied saying he was “gonna give [the interviewer] a good answer.”

The ‘Lightyear’ star continued: “The answer would be that maybe [I’m] laser-focused on finding a partner, you know, someone that you want to live with. I mean, look — I love what I do. It’s great; I pour all of myself into it," before adding: "But in terms of — even this industry is full of pockets of doubt, hesitation, and recalibration in terms of really trying to find someone that you really can pour all of yourself into. Maybe it’s about trying to find someone that you’re looking to spend your life with. Yes, so maybe it’s that.”

This comes after Shakira called it quits with the Spanish football player. In a joint statement, they had said, “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we ask for respect for privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

Evans was previously dating Jenny Slate, before they went their own ways in March 2018. After their breakup, an insider told Us Weekly, “Chris feels neutral towards Jenny Slate and holds no bad feelings towards her. [He] is happy for her.” In an interview to Vulture, Slate had said, “What’s the same about us is not just that we’re from Massachusetts, which was such a delight, but Chris is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, to the point where sometimes I would look at him and it would kind of break my heart.”

“He’s really vulnerable, and he’s really straightforward. He’s like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he’s really sure of them. It’s just wonderful to be around. His heart is probably golden-colored, if you could paint it,” the ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ actress asserted as she added, “To be quite honest, I didn’t think I was his type. Eventually, when it was like, 'Oh, you have these feelings for me?', I was looking around like, 'Is this a prank?' I mean, I understand why I think I’m beautiful, but if you’ve had a certain lifestyle and I’m a very, very different type of person — I don’t want to be an experiment.”
