BBC Radio 2's Chris Evans and his wife are expecting twins
Happy news reached BBC Radio 2 listeners this Monday, when presenter Chris Evans announced that his wife Natasha Shishmanian is expecting twins. The excited dad-to-be made the announcement on his radio show, telling happy listeners that he and his wife are happy to be adding a fourth and fifth kid to their growing family.
Just about a month ago, the 54-year-old radio personality revealed that his wife, 38, was going through IVF treatment. The couple currently has two other children, Noah, eight and Eli, four. The DJ has a 30-year-old daughter from an earlier marriage.
Now, they're excited to be welcoming the fourth and fifth "ankle biter."
Chris was speaking to pregnancy nutritionist Henrietta Norton during his segment when he mentioned the news, asking the expert for their advice. Henrietta cheekily asked Chris to get a bigger car.
Chris said: "Mrs Evans is...she is now, yeah. Twins. Double trouble. Twin turbo. We've known for a while, obviously. She's definitely the mother, there's no doubt about that."
Chris has been very open about his wife undergoing IVF treatment. He even discussed the fact that she was undergoing "harvesting" on Friday morning.
"Mrs Evans has gone into hospital this morning at 7am — she is the field and there's a harvest taking place this morning." the radio presenter said "I have to leave at 9:30 in the morning because I am required."
"It's a nice thing," Chris continued, "We're having one last hurrah, one last attempt at a fourth ankle biter."
Chris's fans and listeners praised the presenters honesty and open approach. It's an issue that is faced by a lot of couples, and Chris received praise for talking about it.
We're super excited for the happy family. Hope you get that big car, Chris!
