The ’Go Crazy’ hitmaker was banned from the UK in 2010 after allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna during the 2009 Grammys

Chris Brown and the Wireless Music Festival were brutally slammed on Twitter in the last week of May when he was announced as one of the performers. The same happened when the rapper and singer landed on the stage in London over the weekend 12 years after he was banned in the UK.
 
The ’Go Crazy’ hitmaker was banned in the UK in 2010 after allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna during the 2009 Grammys. Interestingly, Rihanna made her very first appearance at Wireless Festival in London after giving birth to her baby boy. She stepped out to support her rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky at the same event.

Chris Brown performs at Wireless Fest 12 years after getting banned in the UK

Several videos surfaced on Twitter showing the 33-year-old performing on Friday, July 1 at Wireless Festival. The rapper donned a pink hoodie with the words “I got lucky” emblazoned across it in white. It was earlier reported that Brown’s visa for entry to the UK was denied due to him committing a serious criminal offense and being ordered to carry out community service. According to the Mirror, Chris Brown shed light on the alleged assault saying he felt like a "monster" and his actions would "haunt” him forever. "I look back at that picture and I'm like, 'That's not me, bro'. I hate it to this day," he said while speaking of the infamous picture of Rihanna and her injuries. "That's going to haunt me forever", concluded the rapper. 

Chris Brown and Rihanna first met in 2005 but started dating in 2007 until 2009. After the alleged assault by Chris Brown, the ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker went on to date rap icon Drake, and businessman Hassan Jameel before getting together with rapper A$AP Rocky.

“I’m still processing what happened. I was right at the front too. Can’t believe I witnessed his first performance in the Uk in 12 years”, said one user as another shared, “I just saw Chris Brown at Wireless. Anything is possible!” The next one tweeted, “In the shower listening to Chris Brown’s new album while aims is ringing me from wireless playing his old tunes, bliss xxx.” Whereas, one added, “I just saw one snap of wireless, Chris brown was performing the crowd looked so dead I wanna hope that it was just where they was standing.” And, another user concluded, “Wireless crowd for Chris Brown looked drier than a ham sandwich on brown bread.”
