'X Factor' star Chico Slimani rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke at the age of 47
Chico Slimani came 5th on 'X Factor' in 2005 and even scored a chart hit with his song 'It's Chico Time'
Former 'X Factor' star Chico Slimani has sadly suffered a stroke and been rushed to the hospital, his agent revealed on Friday.
In an exclusive statement from his publicist, the 47-year-old's family said, "We can confirm that Chico has sadly suffered a stroke. This has been a great shock to Chico, his wife and their two children, also his close friends and family. We thank you in advance for giving Chico and the family some privacy at this time. Chico is now undergoing further tests and further statements will be released shortly."
Chico's time on the 'X Factor' will be remembered by his friends when he had come in the 5th place in 2005 and he even landed a chart hit with his song 'It's Chico Time'.
Sadly, his music career soon fizzled out and all he was relying on pantos and holiday camp gigs to pay his bills. He is married to Daniyela, 44, and the couple has two daughters Lalla-Khira and Zacharia.
According to Mirror, the singer who founded The Rainbow Child Foundation to help poverty-stricken youngsters around the world with food, sanitation and HIV awareness, said last year, “I am a happy, positive person but, like everyone else, I have days when my positive attitude definitely leaves the building."
“What I try to do is forget the tough experiences but remember the lessons. On X Factor, I was a caricature because of It’s Chico Time and I acted along with it because I had to. But I’ve always wanted the chance for people to see the real me and I can’t begin to thank 'Dancing On Ice' enough for giving me that chance,” he said.
