'Chicago PD' Season 7 Episode 15 not airing this week, here's what to expect when the show returns
As viewers might have realized, there isn't a new episode of 'Chicago PD' airing this week. This is because all three shows from the 'Chicago' franchise are going on a scheduled mini-break. But don't worry. When the show returns next week, there are a few good things in store for fans.
For one, the next week's episode of 'Chicago PD' will be a crossover with 'Chicago Fire', and if that was not enough, Brian Geraghty will return as Sean Roman in the crossover episodes.
Jesse Spencer from 'Chicago Fire' told MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) that Sean will be back in town looking for his missing sister. In the synopsis for the 'Chicago Fire' part of the crossover, we understand that Roman will work with Lt Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) to solve a series of teen opioid overdoses.
In the 'Chicago PD' part of the crossover, Intelligence will search for the dealer who is responsible for multiple overdoses and is mysteriously connected to Roman's sister. However, when the dealer turns up dead, the case becomes a homicide investigation. Patrick Flueger, who plays Adam Ruzek, told MEAWW that the episode is "very dramatic."
What would be most interesting to watch is how Sean and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) will interact with one another. When Sean left in Season 3, the two were still dating and Kim declined his offer to move with him.
Kim herself has gone through a traumatizing ordeal. Two episodes ago, Kim's attempt to save a sex-trafficking victim — a teenage girl — led to the culprit brutally attacking her. This led her to her miscarrying the baby.
Kim would certainly open up to Sean about what she went through and we think he might be better at talking to her than we have seen Adam be. Adam himself is still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that he is not going to be a father, after all, so we don't blame him.
'Chicago PD' airs on NBC on Wednesday at 10 pm/9c. The next episode will air on February 26.
