LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Social media influencer Charli D'Amelio from Generation Z has recently shared her personal journey with mental health challenges. She candidly revealed that she experienced a profound low point in her life, even after achieving the milestone of reaching 100 million followers on TikTok.

Since her rise to prominence on TikTok in 2019, Charli D'Amelio has come a long way in her career.

She has successfully collaborated with numerous brands, taken on the role of hosting her own reality TV show on Hulu, and even ventured into the world of fashion by co-founding a footwear line with her sister, Dixie D'Amelio.

Nevertheless, her journey hasn't been without its fair share of challenges and obstacles.

Charli D'Amelio opens up about struggles with mental health

In a recent episode of Jay Shetty's podcast, Charli shared her personal experiences with mental health challenges. She openly discussed how rumors, misinformation, and hurtful comments had a profound impact on her, especially as she grew up in the public eye.

Upon Jay's questioning about "things" that made her emotional, Charli listed instances in which her persona was portrayed inaccurately. She said, “I don’t want to defend every rumor that comes out about me.”

"16 was really hard for me and I would hear these grown adults every single day; Charli did this, Charli did that," the influencer recalled.

She added, “It was actually right when I hit 100 million, I think I was at the lowest mental state possible and I looked so happy online.”

She also mentioned, “It got really dark to where I was like I don’t even want to be here anymore.” Fortunately, it seems Charli has come over through that.



 

“I think back to those times and the grown adults that put 16-year-old me in that mindset and I’m just like, you guys have kids now,” she said. “I wish that they could see what they did to me and how truly horrible they treated me.”
