Channing Tatum and Jessie J have reportedly split again. While the couple wanted to give their relationship another try, it seems that things haven't worked out. The split is amicable, claim a source. The couple had earlier broken up in December 2019 and reconciled in January 2020.
People quoted a source as saying, "They cared enough about each other to try again but realized it was better to move on," and also added, "It’s totally amicable." The first time the couple split, it was reported that Tatum and Jessie J both believed that the timing was off. Tatum had joined Raya after the split the first time around, and it looks like he has done it again. So what makes this dating app special?
Raya is an exclusive dating app that reportedly accepts only 8% of the applicants. It is a private, elite, members-only app that was launched in February 2015. The app is unofficially known as the dating app for celebrities after Cara Delevigne, Drew Barrymore, Amy Schumer, Ben Affleck, John Mayer, Kelly Osbourne, Joe Jonas, and Trevor Noah have all been reportedly spotted on the app.
Vogue's Karley Sciortino wrote about this app and said that the app was an "'elite' dating app that accepts only people in creative industries, unless you’re superhot, in which case: Who cares what you do?" She also explained how the app is referred to by many as "Illuminati Tinder" because of how exclusive they are and the steps that are involved in becoming a member of this app.
Unlike other dating apps, Raya uses as an external committee to check one's creative influence. This could be one's influence on social media as well, and depending on their consensus, a member is accepted or rejected. While the app itself was launched in 2015, it wasn't until 2018 that the founder of app outed himself through an interview with the New York Times because he wanted to set the record straight on what this exclusive dating app was all about.
Daniel Gendelman, the app founder said that he was tired of people thinking Raya as a hook-up app for jet setters. He explained, "I want to have people not feel what you felt — ‘it’s for people that look a certain way or do a certain thing,’” He added that his app was "for passionate people anywhere in the world who have something they want to share with other members, and can do it in a respectful way.”
To become a member of Raya is considered as hard or harder than getting into an ivy league university with over 10,000 applications still on the waiting list. According to a report in NYT, the app has 500 trusted members who vote on every application. The app that is only available on iOS is also strict about the anonymity and privacy of the members. For instance, 'Vanderpump Rules' star Stassi Schroeder claimed that she was banned from the app after she publicly discussed her match with the Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte.
