Channing Tatum and Jessie J split on friendly terms after a year of dating due to 'different priorities that don’t align'

According to a source, “Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don’t really align. They had a fun relationship, but it just didn’t work out. Channing needs to be in LA a lot so he can spend time with Everly. Jessie prefers England. They are still friendly though.”

Actor Channing Tatum and singer Jessie J have reportedly split. According to People Magazine, the couple called it quits just over a year after they were first linked together in October 2018.

Tatum first confirmed the relationship status in November 2018, with a post praising Jessie's performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The ‘Magic Mike’ actor wrote, "This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow."

According to a source, 39-year-old Tatum and 31-year-old Jessie, despite the break-up, are on friendly terms. “There wasn’t any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends,” the source said.

According to a second source that spoke to People, Tatum and Jessie split because of “different priorities”. The source said, “Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don’t really align. They had a fun relationship, but it just didn’t work out. Channing needs to be in LA a lot so he can spend time with Everly. Jessie prefers England. They are still friendly though.”

Earlier this year, in September, Jessie debuted a new song about her relationship with Tatum. The song’s lyrics read: “Where you go I know I want to follow / Let’s make a promise on today / Take it slow, baby steps so we don’t know when what comes next / Let’s be still, just stay calm, so we’re not rushing what we are / Pressure on, just have fun / It’s not a race, no need to run / If it’s forever / Let’s just simply be in love.”

Last year, Tatum and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan split after nine years of marriage. In her book ‘Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day’, Dewan wrote, “In the beginning of my separation, it felt as though I were in a dark closet, desperately trying to find the light or the way out. I was in a state of shock. One week I’d be doing really well and the next I was slammed with a whole new slew of emotions. The rumor mill was churning out story after story.”
