Celeste Barber, an Australian comedian who became famous for parodying and remaking Instagram posts of models and celebrities, slammed the 'unrealistic standards' of the fashion and beauty industry. Barber, 40, enjoys pointing out the unattainable expectations that these industries have established as the norm.

"I realized that there were all these kinds of images being put out there, that were sold off as being normal and every day," regarding her initial start-up in 2015, Barber told Page Six. She explains that while editorial and art have their place in publications, things are different on social media.

"When you bought a magazine you knew, oh that's Cindy Crawford being Cindy Crawford but on social media," Barber said. "It got sold as 'this is what everyone looks like,' and I was like, 'no, I don't reckon that's how people really look,' or 'I know I don't look like that,' so I did a piss-take on it."

"It's a look at celebrity culture, the beauty industry, the fashion industry, multibillion-dollar body-shaming industry so it's just kind of nice to cut through that a bit," Barber added. Cindy Crawford, Naomi Watts, Bella Hadid, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Drew Barrymore are just a few of the famous people who have become lovers of Barber's work since she began her television series.

The 'All Saints' star claims that celebrities are aware that she is mocking the industry as a whole rather than any particular celebrities. "They understand it's a look at something bigger than the individual," she stated. "The world that they're in... it's cutting through the industry, you're not taking it too seriously."

Barber stated that other individuals have come up to her and expressed how they "feel represented" and "seen." Barber said, "But I think the success that I've had is that I'm funny... My goal is first and foremost to make someone laugh. You make someone laugh and then we all kind of even out. That's always been my goal, to make people laugh."

The mother of two is currently traveling the United States with her stand-up show, "Fine, Thanks," and making people laugh. On August 27, she will do a performance at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Barber's affable husband Api Robin, who frequently doubles as her sidekick, won't be present at the tour. "He's really f******** annoyingly hot," Barber remarked. "Twenty years we've been together but I still do have moments where I'm like, 'Jesus!'"

"I'm a very nondescript looking person, I can go incognito without people knowing who I am, but if I'm with him, people will spot him because he's so beautiful and go, 'Omg where is she?' Even though I'm right next to him. Bastard, that annoys me," Barber claimed. Barber and Robin have two sons, Lou, age 9, and Buddy, age 6. She is also the stepmother of two girls from her husband's past relationships, according to the sources.
