Who is Yumi Nu? Jordan Peterson slammed for calling Sports Illustrated model 'NOT beautiful'
Dr Jordan Peterson, a clinical psychologist and YouTuber, has sparked debates by sharing his views on Yumi Nu's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover. "Sorry," Dr Peterson tweeted in response to The New York Post's report about the plus-size model's cover debut on Monday, May 16. "Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that."
One Twitter user, among several, criticized the best-selling author, saying, "'Authoritarian?' Chunky women on magazine covers? You sound like a parody of you." Peterson responded, citing two scientific studies on attractiveness, "It's a conscious progressive attempt to manipulate & retool the notion of beauty, reliant on the idiot philosophy that such preferences are learned & properly changed by those who know better." However, Peterson revealed he was quitting Twitter following backlash over calling the plus-size model "not beautiful.”

"But don’t let the facts stop you," Peterson concluded. To his over 5 million YouTube fans, the Canadian best-selling author of "12 Rules For Life" is renowned as a conservative intellectual who shares his thoughts on cultural and political concerns.
Individuals on social media responded angrily to his remarks, with some advising the scholar to research the history of beauty standards. "Standards of beauty change over time. Plus you posted two studies that don’t substantiate your point," one individual wrote while this another individual wrote, "He's always been a parody of an 'intellectual' psychologist, dummies."

Nonetheless, several appeared to agree with at least some of Peterson's criticism by emphasizing on Nu's plus-size appearance. One individual wrote, "Lets be honest. She is beautiful. Heavy set.. but still beautiful," and this other wrote, "On the real bros… if she dropped the extra pounds, she'd be a 10."

Another individual wrote, "She is beautiful, but I’d prefer being in a little bit better shape, especially being on a cover of a mag in a swimsuit. But no doubt beautiful & decent proportions."

HasanAbi, a Twitch broadcaster, responded with a less-than-flattering photo of Peterson and a caption mocking the psychologist. HasanAbi slammed Peterson over the photo, claiming it was shot at a low period in his life.
