Celine Dion won the hearts of many after she released her hit song 'My Heart Will Go'. Years after it made its debut in the movie 'Titanic', the song still holds the same value as it did the first time it was introduced to the world.

Speaking to The Mirror, Dion revealed that the song is extremely close to her heart as it was a song that she performed as her husband, Rene Angelil's last wish. Dion was performing the live version of the song for screaming fans but there was only one person on her mind and that was Angelil.

Angelil was battling cancer and could not attend the live concerts that Dion performed. in However, he made sure to listen to her songs by watching the live telecast of the same.

"It wasn't therapeutic for me, it was therapeutic for Rene," she said, almost four years after he passed away.

"For him, it was very important because I took a year off to take care of him but towards the end, he said to me, ‘I need to see you go on stage and sing, I want to make sure, I need to see it'."

Dion said that she didn't feel like dressing up for the performance but decided to put on a show for her husband. "I didn't feel like partying or putting on short dresses and feathers," she said. "But what kept me going was that I thought of him. I did it for him. When I came home, he was so happy."

In September 2015, Dion had made the announcement that Angelil only had "months to live". He died in January 2016.

Dion and Angelil met each other when the singer was 12 years old. In her autobiography, Dion had mentioned that she knew she had feelings for Angelil but decided to keep it a secret for a long time.

However, the relationship soon developed into romance when Dion was 20. The pair got engaged in 1993 and married in December 1994. The pair has three children together, 18-year-old Rene-Charles, and nine-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson.
