CeeLo Green blasts Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for adult content, Internet slams his 'audacity'
Singer CeeLo Green, of Gnarls Barkley and megahits 'Crazy' and 'F**k You' fame, recently made headlines for suggesting that singers like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj needed to tone down their adult content. Given the singer's controversial past when it comes to dealing with women in his personal life, the Internet promptly exploded with rage over his latest grating comments.
Back in 2012, Green reportedly pleaded no contest to slipping the drug Ecstasy into his date's drink and then had sex with her while she was unconscious. He later tweeted "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" and "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent." He was later forced to delete those tweets and backtrack on his controversial comments, but we now live in a screengrabbing era that never forgets.
So it comes across as far too rich and crass that Green would even attempt to chastise female singers on their sexuality and forms of expression in their chosen artistic medium. The singer had recently stated, "A lot of music today is very unfortunate and disappointing on a personal and moral level. There was once a time when we were savvy enough to code certain things. We could express to those it was meant for with the style of language we used. But now music is shameless, it is sheer savagery."
He went on to criticize rap queen Nicki Minaj, saying "You have the 'Heads of State', like Nicki Minaj or someone who is up there in accolades: success, visibility, a platform to influence. Nicki could be effective in so many other constructive ways, but it feels desperate." He also laid into popular singers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for their recent hit 'WAP', saying "Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, they are all more or less doing similar salacious gesturing to kinda get into position. I get it, the independent woman and being in control, the divine femininity and sexual expression. I get it all. It comes at what cost?"
One enraged tweet read, "Imagine a man who allegedly drugged women, raped them & said it’s consent if they are unconscious speaking on what’s appropriate or not! Sit your whack a** down @CeeLoGreen!"

Another infuriated woman declared, "The ashy audacity of a man who had a rape charge commenting publicly on anything to do with women and sex or sexuality. THE AUDACITY!!!!! #ceelogreen"

Another user pointed out Green's hypocrisy in his own lyrics, pointing out that the song 'Closet Freak' wasn't exactly family-friendly fare.
Did #CeeLoGreen forget he made “Closet Freak”, talking about “I’m a freak” and how he wants to pull over and “f— somethin” in the back of the car and encouraging women to “get on the floor and bump and grind”? I mean, Sir!!! 😐

One user also pointed out the disgusting lyrics of 'Necromancer'. Green's song 'Necromancer' featured some shocking lyrics. "Very naughty / Necrophilia / Without a care / I’m compassionate about killing her / I’d have my way with what’s left of the will in her."
CeeLo Green is a r*pist who literally had a song called ‘Necromancer’ that’s about drugging a woman and having sex with her corpse. But he thinks WAP goes too far...gotcha 😒

As one Twitter user concluded, "CeeLo Green is literally a rapist and rape apologist. He needs to stay out of women’s business and just leave us alone... forever."

This latest controversy might prove to be too much for Green to live down and he's probably better off if he took his comments "(St) Elsewhere." To paraphrase one of his own lyrics, "Does that make him crazy? Possibly."
