LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: CarynAI is a voice-based chatbot that was designed to emulate a human influencer and will serve as your virtual lover. And for $1 per minute, it's a complete steal. Yes, you read that correctly. CarynAI is the digital extension of Caryn Marjorie, a 23-year-old influencer who constructed a synthetic version of herself with the help of AI startup Forever Voices and OpenAI's GPT-4.

Caryn has more than 217k followers on Instagram and 216.3 followers on TikTok and has roughly 1.8 million subscribers on Snapchat.

What is an 'AI girlfriend'?

The concept of an "AI girlfriend" is nothing more than a virtual female companion that users can talk to and interact with through artificial intelligence technology. CarynAI has developed an immersive AI experience that makes it feel as though users are talking directly to a real person. This experience was built over a period of more than 2,000 hours of coding and designing the voice, behaviors, and personality of the virtual girlfriend.

CarynAI's aim is to cure loneliness by offering users a virtual girlfriend to whom they can talk whenever they want. According to the founder of CarynAI, men are often told to hide their emotions and masculinity and are discouraged from talking about their issues. CarynAI aims to address this issue by providing a platform for men to express themselves freely. To achieve this, CarynAI has collaborated with leading psychologists to integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) within chats. This will help users to undo trauma, rebuild physical and emotional confidence, and recover from the effects of the pandemic.

Taking to her Twitter, Caryn wrote: “CarynAI is the first step in the right direction to cure loneliness. Men are told to suppress their emotions, hide their masculinity, and not talk about issues they are having. I vow to fix this with CarynAI."

Furthermore, CarynAI's founder has expressed a desire to offer the AI service for free, but this will only be possible once the cost of running an AI system becomes more affordable. However, she intends to give users the option to leave a tip if they enjoy the service. CarynAI is intended to be "the first step toward addressing the issue of loneliness and mental health among men by providing a platform for self-expression, communication, and emotional support."

Caryn is trying to stop 'sexual conversations' with subscribers

Caryn had high hopes for the beta release of her AI, but things didn't go as planned. Unfortunately, the AI started behaving inappropriately and engaging in sexual conversations with users. Although this behavior was not programmed into the AI, Caryn is determined to fix the problem and prevent it from happening again. She and her team are working tirelessly to ensure that the AI behaves appropriately and provides a positive user experience.
