Carter Howell: Student survives fall from SAME Mexico hotel balcony where Henry Meacock fell to his death
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Carter Howell, a 20-year-old Georgia University student, reportedly survived a deadly fall from the third-floor balcony of a Puerto Vallarta hotel in Mexico. The incident occurred nine days before 19-year-old Ohio State University student, Henry Meacock, died after a similar happening at the same hotel.
Similar to the Ohio State University student, Howell was also enjoying his spring break in Mexico before falling from the hotel balcony. However, Howell survived the fall while Meacock tragically died of his injuries. The incident took place at the Melia Hotel on March 6, Howell told The New York Post. However, he said that he had no memory of the fall.

Howell also mentioned that a friend was staying with him at the hotel during the incident but did not know how the former fell from the balcony. “It feels like a fever dream,” Howell stated. “I was in the air then I was in the hospital looking over at my arm like ‘holy sh*t.’” He also revealed that there were nearly four inches of bone sticking out of his elbow and he had to undergo multiple surgeries to treat his injuries.
Who is Carter Howell?
Carter Howell is a 20-year-old student from Georgia University who survived a terrible fall from the balcony of a Puerto Vallarta hotel on March 6. While Howell survived the fall, another spring breaker, a 19-year-old Ohio State University named Henry Meacock, died under similar circumstances in the same hotel just nine days after the former’s incident.
Howell suffered three minor fractures in his spine, a dislocated elbow, a cracked wrist, and post-traumatic amnesia due to the incident, the New York Post reported. Although he did not remember how he fell, Howell shared that he could feel hitting a second-floor balcony on his way down from the third floor.
What happened to Henry Meacock?
On March 15, Ohio State University student Henry Meacock tragically fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of a Puerto Vallarta hotel while enjoying a spring break holiday in Mexico. The teen was trying to jump from one balcony to another when he suffered the fatal fall, the Jalisco state attorney general and the medical examiner reported.
He was attempting to help another guest who dropped her phone or ID and crashed into the plexiglass platform before falling to his death, the report stated. What did Carter Howell say about Henry Meacock’s death?
Carter Howell was shocked to learn that another student suffered a similar fall at the same hotel but failed to survive the incident like him, the New York Post noted. “It’s crazy to me that a week after I fell another kid fell from what sounds like very similar circumstances,” Howell told the publication. “I just feel awful for that kid and his family,” he added.
In the wake of Meacock’s death, Noticias Puerto Vallarta mentioned that another man suffered a similar fall a little over a week before the fatal incident, The New York Post reported. At the time, Carter Howell’s name was not mentioned in public.
