Javier Francisco Rullan Rubert: US tourist, 31, plunges 100ft to his death from hotel roof in Rome
ROME, ITALY: Javier Francisco Rullan Rubert, a tourist from Tampa in Florida, killed himself while holidaying in Rome. He jumped to his death from the roof of the hotel he was staying at. He had booked a room at IH Roma Z3 Hotel in Collatino, Via Claudio Truffi. His body was found in a pool of blood by one of the staff members in front of the hotel at around 4.30 pm, on Monday afternoon, March 27. According to a local news outlet, Rubert died instantly and had been alone when he managed to get onto the roof of the high-rise property.
While it has been ascertained by local authorities that the 31-year-old plunged to his death, the investigation continues with police detectives and a forensic team on the case. The team is trying to establish any possible contacts he may have made in that time. They are also closely looking at his personal items, such as his mobile phone. The man from Florida did not leave any suicide note for family and friends, making it challenging for officials to reach out to his relatives or find clues to what may have triggered such an extreme death. Investigators are going forward with a possible suicide angle but didn’t rule out other possibilities, as per The Italian Insider.
