Like daughter, like mother: Carole Middleton repeats daughter Kate's pink dress to Royal Ascot
Carole Middleton, Kate Middleton's 67-year-old mother, demonstrated that she shares her daughter's sense of style by arriving at Royal Ascot wearing a well-known pink outfit. Royal fashion enthusiasts may recall Carole's Me + Em pink outfit from that visit.
The silk shirt-dress style midi, which cost $540 at the time, had soft pleats and a sash waist. However, the Duchess, 40, replaced hers with a pink belt from Boden that is more structured. The Duchess of Cambridge visited Mila Sneddo to see a young cancer sufferer who requested Kate to wear a pink dress when they met. The Duchess spent time with Mila and her family at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh while accessorizing with pink Emmy London shoes ($410), small gold hoops with a rhodochrosite charm from Missoma London ($110), and a flowery pattern face mask. Carole continued to use the brand's free sash for her day at the races today, wearing it loosely over her dress and accessorizing with an enormous, netting-covered black fascinator and a complementary black handbag. Carole and Kate had previously shared a twinning experience.

Although the Middleton matriarch is frequently sighted in beautiful, very duchess-like outfits, they have been seen wearing the same thing repeatedly. During her pre-duchess days, Kate attended a friend's 2009 wedding in a beautiful white fascinator topped with a blue flower. Carole wore the same hat at Royal Ascot the year after, matching it with a chic Reiss cobalt dress. The Ascot ensemble saw even more action in 2012 when Kate wore the belted design to East Anglia's Children's Hospices Treehouse facility for her first-ever public address as a member of the royal family. Even Alizee, Carole's daughter-in-law, borrowed her wedding dress for her nuptials to James Middleton in 2021.

The matching news comes after it was revealed that the Cambridge family is reportedly moving to Windsor later this year; the Middleton family's house in Berkshire is just a short drive away. The duchess' debut at this year's Royal Ascot is keenly anticipated by fans. Michael Middleton accompanied Carole, the creator of the party supply company Party Pieces, in the Royal Ascot grandstands. At some point during the five-day festival, Kate and Prince William will probably attend the glitzy horse race. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a memorial ceremony on Tuesday, June 14, to commemorate the Grenfell Tower fire's fifth anniversary.
