More than the Tiger King Joe Exotic himself, it was the American big cat-rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue Carole Baskin who clearly stole the show. Be it for her cat-themed attire or the infamous story about killing her husband and feeding him to tigers, Baskin has managed to find herself in every conversation regarding Netflix’s hit series ‘Tiger King’.
Following the unimaginable success of the documentary-series, CBS Television Studios has announced an eight-episode scripted series on ‘Tiger King’ based on the Texas Monthly article 'Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild', as per reports.
The news further confirmed that Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage would be essaying Joe Exotic.
While ‘Tiger King’ fans are super excited to learn about the making of the new series, they can’t help but wonder who would be playing the role of Carole Baskin. Wasting no time, they took to Twitter to weigh their options, naming the actresses they would like to see essay Baskin.
Among many big names that are making the rounds on the internet, ‘The Golbergs’ star Wendi McLendon-Covey has appeared one too many times, as fans wish to see her as the Tiger Queen in the upcoming scripted series.
While one fan said that they would like to see Wendi McCovey as Baskin, another nominated the actress with a few more in a comment which read, “While I haven't seen Tiger King, I instinctively know that this is perfect casting. If they're looking for a good Carole Baskin, I submit the following actresses: Jane Krakowski, Wendy McClendon, Covey, Laura Kinney and Julianne Moore.”
“Actor Nicholas Cage has agreed to play Joe Exotic in a TV series. I believe actress Kathy Bates would play the perfect Carole Baskin”, tweeted one.
