LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Carol Burnett, the legendary comedian and actress, is set to celebrate a monumental milestone on April 26th - her 90th birthday. In an interview, Burnett shared her disbelief at the upcoming occasion, she said, "I can't wrap my head around it. I still feel like I'm about 11, but I'm amazed. It sure went fast. But I'm glad because I've got all my parts - got my hips, I got my knees and I've got my brain, so I'm happy about that."

To commemorate Burnett's incredible career and birthday, NBC will air a two-hour special entitled 'Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love'. Carol Burnett: A late bloomer in comedy

Despite being known for her comedic talents, Burnett didn't discover her knack for humor until college. In a recent interview, the star revealed, "I was pretty much of a quiet student all through grammar school, junior high and Hollywood High. I would kid around with my friends, the neighborhood kids, stuff like that. But I never really thought about it until I got to UCLA and I was in an acting class. A lot of the kids at the class were doing heavy, dramatic stuff and I thought, I can't do that. So I picked something light and they laughed. That's when the bug bit."

As a result of this, Burnett considers herself a "late bloomer" in the entertainment industry, especially when compared to "so many performers who started when they were 3 and 4 and 5 years old." However, despite the challenges she faced along the way, including being told she was "too loud for television" early in her career, Burnett went on to achieve international fame.
