Singer Cardi B slammed young Bernie Sanders voters on Wednesday, April 8, night while delivering a series of political takes on social media after the 2020 Democratic presidential contender dropped out of the White House race.

The 27-year-old Grammy-winning singer took to Instagram Live and denounced her fans who did not show up at the polls to support the Vermont Senator. Cardi B, a staunch supporter of Sanders, said she was "very upset with everybody," noting that the groundswell of support online for the Democrat socialist did not match the results at the state polls.

"I see a lot of young people on the Internet always lying ... y'all motherf***ers, y'all young motherf****rs," the singer said in her video. "Y'all wasn't voting, y'all wasn't voting, what the f*** was up with that?"

The 'Bodak Yellow' singer noted that the absence of younger people supporting Sanders at the ballot box meant that the issues they face in their lives, like paying for college, and college debt, will not be addressed as voters who are comparatively older focus on different issues.

"Those are the people that are voting," she said. "Those are the people that are voting and because of that, that means Bernie is out of the motherf*****g race!"

Sanders and Cardi B, last summer, had participated in a discussion in a nail bar, where they talked about various issues, ranging from minimum wage, eliminating student debt and climate change. The singer, in an interview in December 2019 with Vogue, had said she believed Sanders was a genuine candidate who cared about people.

"People are not perfect, but he has the perfect intentions," she said. "He naturally cares about minorities. He actually cares about people getting Medicare because he knows they can't afford it. I don't feel like he's just saying these things 'cause he want the vote.'"

The singer, in her Wednesday live, said: "Now we gotta vote for [Democratic front-runner Joe Biden]," adding that she was tentatively supporting Biden now and was planning to research about his policies. Cardi B also made it clear that she did not want President Donald Trump winning the presidential elections again, suggesting that she was not confident about his handling of the economic crash that would follow the coronavirus crisis.

"I do not want 45 to be president again, now y'all this s*** is very f***ing serious," she said. "We got no f*****g time to play around ... do you really want 45 to be in charge of the recession."

The singer also noted that although President Barack Obama "cleaned the recession up" left by President George W. Bush in 2009, she does not believe that Trump is "capable of handling" this. She added that the country is "about to enter a recession" amid the pandemic, as "we don't even know when mother s*** is gonna leave."

She added that she thinks Trump does not "give a f***" about the issues minorities will face amid the upcoming economic conditions post the pandemic. She also questioned where the stimulus checks were, adding that although she was well off her friends and associates have been hit hard by the coronavirus crisis.
