LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Early in 2021, Ludwig Ahgren aka Ludwig as known to his fans became very popular thanks to his groundbreaking subathon. Now Twitch, the renowned streaming platform, has witnessed criticism after banning streamer CardboardCowboy for playing music that he legally owned the rights to.

The confusing limitations have not only shocked the streaming community but also caught Ludwig's notice, a well-known player in the industry, who openly mocked Twitch for its perplexing choice. CardboardCowboy's suspension highlights the platform's poor processing of streamer appeals as Twitch comes under increasing fire for its contentious standards and a lack of clear information.

Why was CardboardCowboy banned?

This incident raised concerns about the treatment of content creators and the future of Twitch as a streaming platform evolved around CardboardCowboy is a long-standing Twitch partner with a 24/7 Lo-fi music channel.

He was shocked to learn that he had been banned for streaming songs for which he was the rightful owner. He immediately filed an appeal against the suspension in an effort to get more information about the claimed contravention of Twitch's Community Guidelines. Sadly, his appeal was turned down without any substantial justification.

CardboardCowboy expressed his dismay at the lack of transparency, highlighting the necessity for clear communication and an awareness of the particular offence he was being accused of. The community and the streamer were both perplexed and disappointed by the lack of thorough feedback.

Ludgwig’s comment on Twitch

Prominent streamers like Ludwig were drawn to the contentious ban and openly criticized Twitch for how they handled CardboardCowboy's situation. In his YouTube video, Ludwig expressed surprise and disappointment and criticized Twitch's choice as being incomprehensible. With a touch of sarcasm, he questioned the platform’s judgment, asking, “How can you be that dumb?”

The streaming community reacted favorably to Ludwig's mockery, which served to further emphasize the issues with Twitch's rules and decision-making procedure. The episode acted as a potent reminder of the value of uniformity and fairness in applying rules across the platform.
