Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson split after two years of bold dating
Supermodel Cara Delevingne and actress Ashley Benson have reportedly decided to go their separate ways after nearly two years of dating. Reports state that 27-year-old Delevingne and 30-year-old Benson decided to split amid the coronavirus lockdown.
One source, while talking to People, said that the pair ending their relationship in April, suggesting it had "ran its course." The source added that the supermodel lately has been spending more time with her friends, including Margaret Qualley, her sister Rainey Qualley, and Kaia Gerber while self-quarantining amid the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.
"Cara and Ashley always had their ups and down before but it's over now," the source told the outlet. "Their relationship just ran its course.”
Delevingne and Benson were first pictured together at London’s Heathrow Airport in August 2018, where they were photographed kissing. The pair have been snapped being affectionate towards each other multiple times since.
The supermodel, in June 2019, had confirmed her relationship with Benson while talking to E! News before the TrevorLIVE Gala. She told the outlet that she had shared an Instagram video kissing Benson in honor of the Stonewall Riots’ 50th anniversary and their one-year anniversary.
"A kiss with a cause. This Valentine’s Day when you share a photo of you and a loved one — a significant other, a friend, a pet — you can also raise awareness and help create a future with more survivors thanks to @su2c #KissCancerGoodbye campaign," Delevingne had written on Instagram.
"I don’t know because it is Pride, it’s been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don’t know," she said. "It’s been just about our one-year anniversary so, why not?”
The 27-year-old also talked about being in love in the October 2019 issue of ELLE UK, as she told the magazine, "It just feels incredible when you’re not alone, when you’re facing the world with someone else."
“I don’t want to be so secretive that people think I’m ashamed of anything. But I’ve never been in a relationship where things are so public, or where I posted pictures of someone else," she continued. “This seemed different. We had gotten to the point where we had kept it a secret, or at least not wanted attention, and now I feel like I’m not going to not be proud."
While Benson, in August 2018, during an interview with People had told the outlet that she has always valued privacy in a relationship, and thinks her being private about her personal life is better.
"I think [privacy is] the best way in any relationship,” Benson said. “I’ve always been very private about them, and I think it’s just better. I mean it’s hard, I don’t know, you kind of can’t get away from that if you’re in the public eye,” added the actress. “I just kinda try to keep myself as private as possible."
Benson was previously linked to Justin Bieber's Drew House business partner and longtime friend Ryan Good between 2011 and 2016, while the supermodel previously dated indie rocker St Vincent before they split in 2016.
