Candace Owens slammed for reposting private recordings of Steve Crowder's 'abuse'
TENNESSEE, NASHVILLE: Conservative political commentator Stephen Crowder announced on Tuesday, April 25, on his show 'Louder with Crowder' that he and his wife Hilary were getting divorced. "I have been living with a proverbial boot on my neck for going on years now," Crowder shared, and further said, "Since 2021, I've been living through what has increasingly been a horrendous divorce."
In return, the YouTuber and comedian’s ex-wife’s family recently released a statement and video footage to writer Yashar Ali, and both materials accused Crowder of emotional abuse. The footage obtained from a ring camera showed Crowder arguing with a heavily pregnant Hilary. Now conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has previously beefed with Crowder, used the same video to seemingly rub salt on his wounds by reposting the video on her timeline for the benefit of those who hadn’t seen it.

What did the Steven Crowder ring video show?
For those of you who did not bother to read the article where it details the audio clip of him saying that he was going to “fuck up” his 8 month pregnant wife— here it is: https://t.co/yZkL3YlIab

On June 26, 2021, Steven is seen smoking on their back porch in the Ring camera footage as Hilary gets ready to leave the house while donning a top that reveals her noticeable pregnancy belly. Steven could be seen yelling, "I drew a boundary," as she reached for the keys. "You're not taking the car." Steven responds to Hilary's question about why she can't use the car to go grocery shopping by saying, "Because if you don't do wifely things then I will go get the groceries." She responds that she respects males when he asks her if she does. She seemed to be trying to establish an understanding when she inquires about whether he would feel more at ease if she had someone pick her up, to which Steven advises her to use Uber, as cited by Daily Mail.
'The only way out of this is discipline and respect'
He mentioned that if Hilary uses the car, he can't go to the gym, see his parents, or hang out with his pals as he becomes noticeably angrier. "The only way out of this is discipline and respect," he could be heard saying to Hilary. "It's the only way out of this." At that time, Hilary tells Steven, appearing to become more and more irate, "I love you. But Steven, your abuse is sick." She says, "I love you. I love you very much." Steven, though, calls her affection 'disingenuous,' contending that if she is dedicated to their marriage, she should use gloves before giving the dogs medicine.
Hilary was too scared
Finally, Hilary makes the decision to leave. According to Ali's account of witness testimony, Steven then became even more irate and said, "I will f*** you up." He instantly pulled back when he realized what he had said, according to Steven and Hilary, according to Ali, but Hilary was too scared and had already fled.
Candace Owens says Steven Crowder has accused her of ‘extortion’
Lastly, as a rule, I do not believe that private recordings should be released.

But for a man who quite literally released a private recording of his “friend” so he could scam people into supporting his new platform—I am going to have to applaud the cosmic justice of it all.
Owens has defended posting the video by saying: "Lastly, as a rule, I do not believe that private recordings should be released. But for a man who quite literally released a private recording of his “friend” so he could scam people into supporting his new platform—I am going to have to applaud the cosmic justice of it all."
Crowder, prior to the release of the video, accused Owens of trying to extort him on matters regarding his divorce. Crowder, who hosts Louder with Crowder, initiated the divorce proceedings with Hilary back in 2021, and the whole thing has only spilled into the public in the most acrimonious fashion. Crowder claimed on his show on Tuesday, April 25, that he made the announcement about his divorce public to combat 'veiled threat' from the right—namely Owens.
To support his claim, Crowder produced clips from a January episode of Owens’ show on The Daily Wire. Crowder reveals Owens attributed his feud with The Daily Wire to unspecified personal issues in his life, reports The Daily Beast. Crowder also mentioned that those comments, along with other attacks made by Owens, were what he terms as ‘extortion’ and he also alleged that Owens was threatening to leak information about his divorce. Owens, for her part, has denied the extortion allegations and even sent Crowder a cease-and-desist.
'But you retweeted the private recording'
While Crowder and Owens' feud is taking a life of its own, social media users and fans of Crowder were not pleased with Owens reposting Yashar Ali’s video, especially when she claims that "I do not believe that private recordings should be released." A user tweeted, "Feels like I am back in grade school. All the best to both you and Crowder." Another user said, "It seems like every accusation is pure projection." "I dunno. You’re being super petty about this. You’re kinda making me want to cancel my DW membership," remarked one person. Another user claimed, "I can’t wait until this backfires on you Candace." One person wrote, "I wonder where class and dignity have gone." "But you retweeted the private recording. How can you say this?" asked a user.
Feels like I am back in grade school. All the best to both you and Crowder.
