Candace Owens mocks 'windy weather' excuse for Biden's triple stumble: 'Climate change to blame'
Conservative commentator Candace Owens, who recently got into a Twitter spat with Cardi B, has taken to the social media site to mock President Joe Biden for his fall. The president tripped not once, not twice, but three times on his way up a staircase to the Air Force One on Friday, March 19. The 78-year-old President ended up falling on his left knee while still holding the railing with his right hand.
Following the accident, which happened while Biden was departing for Atlanta from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, a White House spokesperson blamed the windy weather. Karine Jean-Pierre, the deputy White House press secretary, told reporters on Air Force One: “It’s very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself. He is doing 100% fine.”
Asked if the president was checked by a doctor, Jean-Pierre said only: “I just -- all I know is -- I can tell you is he’s doing fine. He’s doing great.”

Owens, following the incident, claimed that Biden had “dementia”. She wrote, “It’s difficult to fall 3 times while going up a flight of steps. Managing to make your left shoulder blade hit the carpet in the process is rarely accomplished — even in a game of Twister. Biden has dementia but let’s wait for CNN to tell us this is just another adorable gaffe!”

The “dementia” trolling is not new. Trump supporters on Twitter have claimed several times in the past that the aged President has a degenerative brain disease. Republican supporters, after Biden's first prime-time address on March 11, 2021, where he reportedly praised his own administration for the prompt rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine, took to social media to vent their disappointment by branding Biden as “Dementia Joe”
Following the statement given by Jean-Pierre, Owens tweeted, “LMAO. Climate change, guys. Climate change is to blame for Biden’s fall. Now stop talking about it!”
LMAO.

Now stop talking about it! https://t.co/lkUBaC9lnQ
The president reportedly has not taken a cognitive test for dementia and his medical and surgical history released in 2019 made no reference to him suffering from the condition. Nonetheless, a poll found that nearly 40 percent of registered American voters believe Biden has "some form of dementia". The poll was conducted via telephone and online, surveyed 1,000 likely voters, and had a sampling error margin of three percentage points.
Many online called Owens out for her dementia comment. “Please don't be childish. So he misspeaks or trips sometime, totally normal for a man of his age. So what? He has a team behind him. Biden is doing a great job so far, esp with telling China where to get off. And can we please get an escalator for Airforce One?!” wrote one Twitter user. Another Twitter user said, “Happens to me going up the stairs often and I’m a lot younger! Hurrying with lots of projects to take care of often causes one to not pay close attention when going UP stairs. A President who cares and is actually working hard on behalf of the country is exactly what we need.” Another user said: "Just like Republicans to make fun of the elderly."
