‘The Mandalorian’ actress Gina Carano has gotten entangled in yet another controversy following her recent Instagram post, in which she said that being Republican in the United States today is like being a Jew during the Holocaust in Nazi Germany. The former mixed martial artists-turned-actress faced a major backlash for her problematic post, earning the ire of the public as they began trending #FireGinaCarano. Addressing the issue, Lucasfilm announced that Carano would not be returning to the ‘Star Wars’ galaxy.

A Lucasfilm representative said in a statement confirming the news: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable." But now, Gina’s fans, who seem irked by Disney Plus’ decision to sack one of its actors over “free speech”, are digging the network’s old controversies rallying for its cancellation by trending #CancelDisney Plus.

After the news regarding Carano being dropped from ‘The Mandalorian’ was made public, her fans rushed to Twitter to defend her, while calling out the channel for its “hypocrisy”. More and more people began discussing a row of controversies the network has been embroiled in over the years while slamming it for getting rid of an artist who was simply expressing their opinion.

In no time, Twitter was flooded with posts surrounding all the trouble the network has gotten in overtime. One Twitter @AnOpenSecret tweeted, "Disney / ABC: Fired: Roseanne, Gina Carano Distributed: ‘Powder’, directed by convicted child rapist Victor Salva Hired: Convicted pedophile Brian Peck 1 year after his release from prison, on Disney Channel show ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’"

Another irked social media user wrote, "Pedophile arrested working on Millennium Falcon ride The Disney World employee was charged with 15 counts of possession of child porn His pedo ring was distributing the abuse of infants as young as six months #CancelDisneyPlus"

Adding to the above tweet one said, "The fact that Disney hires known pedophiles and fires those speaking out about politics tells you everything you need to know. #CancelDisneyPlus #cancelDisney"

And some social media users condemned the channel for its "racist" content, pointing at its decision to add disclaimers about "negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures" in some of its classic including 'Peter pan' and 'Dumbo and The Aristocats'.

A user tweeted, "It’s pretty ironic considering Disney was founded on derogatory epithets and stereotypes with Walt Disney himself being a blatant racist and male chauvinist. Not excusing her behavior but Disneys actions and sins are bit more than online bad takes."

Another wrote, "So much for @DisneyStudios promoting strong women. Hypocracy at its finest. #CancelDisneyPlus"

Disney seems to be drawing more criticism over its controversy regarding the filming of 'Mulan' in Xinjiang province, where Uighur Muslims and other Muslim minorities are believed to have been kept allegedly by force. Referring to this, one angry user shared, "their treatment over Joh Boyega and the fans, the filming Mulan near concentration camps, hiring a racist b***h and defended her. Firing Gina was the last straw #FuckDisney #istandwithginacarano #CancelDisneyPlus"

Another added, "Ignoring Disney filming Mulan right next to a concentration camp for Muslims in China is way worse than anything Gina Carano could ever say. It's too bad the alt-left cares more about words than real life. #CancelDisneyPlus"
