‘I think I was a mule carrying drugs to Morocco’: Cameron Diaz recalls WILD modeling days
Cameron Diaz, who is all set to come out of retirement with Jamie Foxx starrer comedy flick ‘Back in Action’, recently revealed that she may have been once used as a mule to carry drugs from Paris to Morocco. The ‘Knight and Day’ star sat for an interview on a podcast called ‘Second Life’ where she recalled her earliest career days before finally making it big in Hollywood.
The 49-year-old actress in her latest interview spilled the beans on how she thinks she smuggled substances just weeks before signing Jim Carrey starrer 1994 blockbuster ‘The Mask’. The superhero comedy flick is one of the biggest movies of Diaz’s career. The starlet spoke about her struggling days as a model in Paris revealing that she had gathered enough money to move to Paris for modeling but could not land a job there.

According to the Daily Mail, Cameron Diaz on the podcast with host Hillary Kerr said, “I started working as a catalogue model and I got enough money to move to Paris and get an apartment, which I shared with a girl who is still one of my best friends.” The renowned star continued, “I was there a full year and didn’t work one day. I couldn’t book a job to save my life. Then I got one job but, really, I think I was a mule carrying drugs to Morocco- I swear to God.”
Diaz further explained the situation saying, “I’m this blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl in Morocco. I’m wearing torn jeans and platform boots with my hair down - this is really unsafe. I told them, 'I don’t know, it’s not mine, I’ve no idea whose it is.’ That was the only job I got in Paris.” The actress revealed that she left the suitcase with the customs when she returned to France after her modeling gig.

The duo earlier worked together in 'Any Given Sunday' (1999) and 'Annie' (2014) which was her last project before he hung up her boots. Cameron Diaz announced her retirement in 2018.
