ATLANTA, GEORGIA: The Internet is calling on CNN to fire Don Lemon after his recent misogynistic remarks about Nikki Haley. Lemon made the controversial comments during an episode of 'CNN This Morning' on Thursday, February 16, where he suggested that the former South Carolina governor is not in her prime to run for president because she is 51 years old.

"This whole talk about age makes me uncomfortable. I think it’s the wrong road to go down. She says people, you know, politicians or something, are not in their prime," Lemon said. "Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry. A woman is considered to be in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s," he added.

Lemon's comments were interrupted by his co-anchor, Poppy Harlow, who asked, "What are you talking about… wait, prime for what?" Lemon responded by citing Google to elaborate on his remark. He said, "It’s just, like, prime. If you look it up, if you Google: ‘When is a woman in her prime?’ It’ll say 20s, 30s and 40s. I’m not saying I necessarily agree with that, so I think she has to be careful of saying that politicians aren’t in their prime and they need to be."

A confused Harlow asked, "Are you talking about prime for childbearing or are you talking about prime for president?" After this exchange, co-host Poppy Harlow walked out of the set of the show. There is a lot of tension building among the hosts.

Why should CNN fire Don Lemon?

This is not the first time Lemon has made such a remark. In another episode, he said that male athletes are "more interesting to watch" He is known for his unethical and rude behavior towards his co-hosts. At one point, he yelled at co-host Kaitlan Collins for interrupting him, according to Fox News. Viewers are calling on the network to take him off the air. This Morning is currently CNN's lowest-rated morning show, and ratings could rise if viewers' demands are met.

'He should be fired'

People called Lemon "sexist" and demanded that he leave the show.  A Twitter user wrote, "How long til @CNN finally cans this guy who is obviously a misogynist..." "He should be fired! Why does he continue to be protected, " another angry person commented. Another user sarcastically said, "Gotta love the sexism from lemon if he had said the same thing about a dem he would have been fired". Another wrote, "Don Lemon has serious issues. He needs to be taking off the morning show or any show period."  "When will they just fire this embarrassment?" another added.
