Caitlyn Jenner joined 'I'm A Celebrity' to 'lose a few pounds' for Christmas party with Kardashians

The 70-year-old former Olympic athlete said she was confident that she will be a good 'parent' figure to the rest of the campmates, adding that she hoped to be crowned Queen Of The Jungle in the show.

Caitlyn Jenner has confirmed that she will be joining 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' but never really revealed why she had decided to participate in the British reality show, until now.

In a promotion video for the show, recorded ahead of its premiere, the 70-year-old former Olympic athlete said: "The only reason I'm doing it is to lose a few pounds. I gotta fit into that outfit when I come back."

She then playfully began lamenting the fact that she will not be allowed to glam up in the jungle setting of the reality show as the contestants will not be allowed to bring hair and makeup teams with them when they compete, Daily Mail reported.

But Kris Jenner's ex-husband did not seem to have that big of a problem with it as it would give her the opportunity to fulfill her ultimate goal. "I have the family Christmas party to go to. I wanna look good," she said.

Caitlyn also said more than the insects and pests she might encounter in the wild, she was more concerned about the kind of rapport she will share with her fellow participants in the show. "There are nine other celebrities. People can be tougher, than any spiders or snakes," she said.

However, being a dad to six biological children and four step-children, Caitlyn said she was confident that she will be a good "parent" figure to the rest of the campmates, adding that she hoped to be crowned Queen Of The Jungle in the show.

"The worst thing that can happen in the jungle is death... or as far as I know. What if I don't even make it across the rope bridge at the beginning?" she said.

Compared to the former "Keeping With The Kardashians" star, many of the other celebrities participating in the show confessed in the promo video that they had a host of fears when it came to spending the days in the jungle.

"Is there penises involved? I'm going then, I'm off," soccer player Ian Wright, 56, jokingly said, adding that he was simply scared of penises.

Actress Jacqueline Jossa, 27, on the other hand, said, "I don't like heights. I don't like spiders, I'm not the best swimmer. Not the best start is it really? I don't know why I am doing the jungle actually."
