BTS and SUGA fans overjoyed about Grammys being postponed to March: 'What Yoongi wants, Yoongi gets'

In case you haven't heard, the Grammys that were to be held on January 31, have been postponed. The decision to postpone had to do with health and travel concerns, coupled with a spike in Covid-19 cases in Los Angeles, where the show is staged.

But BTS fans are convinced it is divine intervention to allow BTS' SUGA aka Min Yoongi to recover from his shoulder injury in time to get his belated birthday present — his very own Grammy award on March 14. Yoongi's birthday falls on March 9.

The rapper and singer had spoken on January 4 in an interview about how his shoulder was so bad before surgery that he "couldn't even raise" his arms. He is still recovering from surgery and waiting for the shoulder brace to come off. During his absence, Yoongi handled his publicity appearances by recording video beforehand or used VR tech to 'join' his band members at shows.

He would similarly not be present during the Grammys where BTS is expected to win their first-ever award. But since the event has now been postponed to March, Yoongi might recover just enough to join his fellow BTS members on stage to receive the award. "Yoongi having time to heal, BTS being able to perform their Grammy stage in korea w their own sets, and then them winning the grammy, and it basically being Yoongi's bday present, ITS ALL COMING TOGETHER FOLKS," said one fan excited about the Grammys being postponed, while another tweet said: "grammys.... in march... yoongi’s birthday month.... y’all." Another fan tweeted: "the Grammy’s have been moved to March.... March is Yoongi’s birthday month.... what Yoongi wants Yoongi gets. Yoongi wants that Grammy and he’s gonna get it."

Others commented on how number 7 was proving to be lucky for the 'BTS  7' again. "Mmmm wow! Imagine BTS winning the category they’re nominated in at the 7th month release of the song release in their 7th year? The power of 7 for @BTS_twt," said one tweet. It was referring to the boy band's first-ever English track 'Dynamite' that has been nominated for 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance'.

This coincidence would have been even more spooky if instead of March 14 as confirmed by Ben Winston of FulWell 73 Productions, the originally reported date of the Grammys (March 21) was the 'correct' date. 'Dynamite' was released on August 21, 2020, which would have been the exact 7-month anniversary of the Grammy-nominated song. One fan had even commented on this saying, "so the Grammys are now going to be held on March 21st. March is not only yoongi’s birth month, but it is ALSO dynamite’s 7 month anniversary. 7. bts are going to win their first Grammy YALL I JUST KNOW IT."

Fans have also been excited about Yoongi penning the song 'Telepathy' for the band's new album 'Be'. He revealed the song came together in just 30 minutes. "I tried a melody for the first time this year (2020), and as I started knowing the fun of music, it opened a lot of new doors for me. So it was kind of easy working on it. I just played a beat and wrote from the beginning until the end. Done," he said. "I wrote it in just 30 minutes. The song almost wrote itself. The trends of pop and hip-hop these days cross boundaries between vocals and rap. I like this trend."
