Bruce Willis goes out for lunch in LA amid aphasia diagnosis and daughter Rumer's pregnancy announcement
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bruce Willis was in good spirits while grabbing some lunch in Santa Monica on Thursday, December 22. The 67-year-old actor was spotted leaving Caffe Luxxe after his meal.
The 'Die Hard' actor, who revealed he had aphasia earlier in 2022, was dressed in a beige coat, a maroon long-sleeve shirt and dark-wash pants as he walked to his car. He completed his laid-back outfit with a pair of black sneakers and a New York Yankees baseball cap, per The Daily Mail.

The outing took place after 34-year-old Rumer, his eldest daughter, announced she was expecting her first child with her partner, 'Vista Kicks' vocalist Derek Richard Thomas, 36. The indie musician could be seen smiling happy as he rested his head on her stomach in a sequence of photos that the couple posted on Instagram earlier this week to break the happy news.
Willis decided to retire from acting earlier in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, a neurological ailment that hinders his ability to speak and has caused issues on set. After dealing with the illness for the last couple of years, the 'Pulp Fiction' star decided to step away from his decades-long acting career. "To Bruce's amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him," Rumer had posted on Instagram.
The statement, which is signed by his wife, Emma Heming, ex-wife Demi Moore, and his other four children, added, "This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion, and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that."
His family is "praying for a Christmas miracle" with him as his mental capabilities continue to deteriorate, a source told Radar Online earlier in December. "They know he won't be around forever. So they're cherishing every single moment," the insider commented.
