Who is Brooke Bowman? Jessica Walter and Ron Bowman's only daughter says 'mom loved to bring joy to others'

Veteran actress Jessica Walter, who was known for starring in hit shows such as ‘Arrested Development, ‘Archer’ and ‘Play Misty for Me’ left a void in the entertainment world as she died at the age of 80 on March 24. According to reports, the actress died in her sleep at her home in New York City. The production company for ‘Arrested Development’ released a statement paying tribute to the late star. 

The statement read, “Our hearts go out to her family and friends, particularly her daughter, and our former colleague, Brooke. We know that heaven just got a whole lot funnier with Jessica now in residence.”

The actress rose to prominence as she starred on the hit show for nearly two decades between 2003 and 2019. She became a mother in 1972 as she welcomed her daughter Brooke Bowman with former husband Ron Bowman. This was a year after her notable role in the commercially successful movie ‘Play Misty for Me’, in which she played a woman with borderline personality disorder. 

What does Brooke Bowman do?

Brooke paid tribute to her mother in a statement to Deadline. She said, “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica. A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on-screen and off. While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class, and overall joie de vivre.”

Brooke is not an actor like her mother, but her life is still closely associated with the entertainment industry. Her Linkedin bio says she currently serves as Sr VP Programming and Development at ABC Family and lives in Los Angeles, California. 

According to IMDb, she has produced 12 episodes of 72 ‘Dangerous Animals: Latin America’ throughout 2017 and worked as a crew member on 2005’s ‘Smoke & Mirrors.’. According to a few reports, she previously served as the SVP of Drama Programming & Development for Fox, which she joined in 2016. 

As far as her personal life is concerned, Brooke is married to David Heymann. He is an actor known for working in shows and movies such as ‘Make It or Break It’, ‘Chasing Life’, ‘Murder Book’ and ‘Unforeseen’ among others. The couple has a son, Micah Walter Heymann, together.

Walter's passing has left a void in the entertainment industry. Several actors shared their condolences on hearing about the actress's death. 

Ozark's Jason Bateman tweeted, "R. I. P. Jessica Walter. What an incredible career, filled with amazing performances. I will forever remember my time with her, watching her bring Lucille Bluth to life. She was one of a kind. All my love and thoughts to her family."

Film director and producer Ron Howard wrote, "What a brilliant, funny, intelligent and strong woman. RIP Jessica Walter, and thank you for a lifetime of laughs and for sharing your incredible talent on our show and with the world. #jessicawalter". 'Arrested Development' actor Henry Winkler shared, "OH NO ...We worked together for years on ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT ..It was an honor to watch her comedy explode from the very first row."
