The two sisters' longstanding feud well-known to the public is rooted in a conservatorship battle conservatorship battle that led the sisters to maintain a rocky relationship for years. According to Fox News, in a 2021 court appearance, Britney revealed shocking allegations against her family for instances of not letting her handle her finances, being denied her right to remove her IUD, and being compelled to work for hours at length. She publicly called for her freedom from her family's conservatorship deal without directly speaking out her sister's name following which #FreeBritney surfaced to trend among social media fans and the public. Later, on a social media post, Britney called out her sister Jamie and others for benefitting from Britney either through money or clout during her conservatorship.

From a deleted post of Jamie from a year ago, she asked her sister to call her saying “Britney — just call me. I have attempted many times to speak to you directly and handle this privately like sisters should, but you still choose to do everything on a public platform.”

With the #FreeBritney hashtag taking its second round now, fans find it unbelievable that Britney may seemingly be in a harmonious relationship with her sister. The fans are not calming down as they suspect the reconciliation is an attempt in trying to get back the songstress to her conservator ties. However, there are many fans who trolled Britney for sharing this tribute to Jamie.

Reacting to the news of the post, one user wrote on Twitter "BRITNEY POSTING JAMIE LYNN IS THIS A JOKE…" Another tweet read "I’ve reached max confusion in the Britney Spears saga. I thought her and Jamie Lynn were in a tussle? She took us on that journey with her. Now they’re perfectly fine and besties? Something isn’t adding up. #BritneySpears". Not ready to believe that Britney herself shared the post on her Instagram, a Twitter user wrote ".@FBI Jamie Lynn hacked Brittancy Spears' Instagram."

Looking at the longstanding feud between the sisters and their history, another user took to Twitter with the #FreeBritney hashtag that wrote, "If Britney Spears has forgiven Jamie Lynn and they made amends I’m happy for them it’s not up to us to forgive or to not forgive Jamie Lynn it’s up to Britney to do that. But I’m not gonna lie I did not see Britney and Jamie Lynn making up on my 2022 Bingo Card. #FreeBritney". Another said, "Is Britney Spears IG hacked?"
