Did Jamie Lynn Spears blame Elon Musk for killing cats? Britney Spears's sister offers bizarre reason for pet deaths

Jamie Lynn Spears who had initially seemed to have blamed the company Tesla and Elon Musk for the 'devastating' deaths of her cats has somewhat offered a clarification to her eyebrow-raising comments. After sparking headlines with a since-deleted video on her Instagram Story on Friday, January 15, the 29-year-old returned to social media after feeling her words were misconstrued.

While the star previously linked her beloved pets' death to accidents involving her electric car, she wrote that she “did not run over any cats” and that Tesla was “not to be blamed, and was never intended to be.”

“User error is admittedly involved,” the mother-of-two continued in another vague explanation, which did not specify how her cats were killed. “We always check for animals before moving vehicle.” Speaking of her suggestion for Tesla's cars to be equipped with a noisemaker, she noted she was “only making a suggestion about something' that she thought would 'be extremely helpful, and the geniuses at Tesla are the best to go to for said issue.”

The younger sister of Britney Spears concluded her Instagram Stories with, “Here's ya quote…. 'I friggin love my Tesla' – Jamie Lynn Spears.”

Her clarification came hours after she posted a plea to Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, about the dangers of creating cars without reverse beeping. “I know there's bigger things to worry about in the world right now, but someone's got to let Elon Musk know that the Tesla is a secret cat killer. And it's a problem, we've really got to fix,” she stated in a video on her Instagram Story that is now deleted. She continued:”'We have, now, lost, I don't even want to tell you how many cats because they don't hear the Tesla Crank and unfortunate things happen. And it's really devastating and tragic for everyone involved.”

Then, the actress went on to suggest Musk add a feature to the brand's luxury vehicles, which would prevent animals from getting struck by a reversing car.

“So, since Tesla is so quiet, maybe, he could, like, make one of those noises that bother cat or animal ears when it cranks up, so that way they know something's happening and they aren't caught off guard. And, things don't end in a very tragic way,” Jamie Lynn proposed.

Addressing the South African-born American entrepreneur directly, she added: “Elon Musk, let's figure this out. I mean, you owe me a couple cats.”  “Yes, I am fully aware that there's some user error involved in this, but I'm just saying, you know, let's collaborate to save some cats' lives,” she concluded.

The most recent death appeared to be her daughter's cat, named Turkey. Further pulling at fans' heartstrings, she filmed her two-year-old, Ivey, who she shares with husband Jamie Watson seemingly asking about their deceased pet's whereabouts.
