Brendon Urie is the talk of the town on social media again. Back on August 13, 2020, #BrendonUrieSpeakUp was trending as fans urged the lead vocalist of Panic! at the Disco to address sexual misconduct allegations — not only against the band’s security guard Zack Hall, but also the claims being made against him. In a new string of tweets on August 25, supporters of the 33-year-old singer-songwriter started the hashtag #WeStandWithBrendonUrie.

An advocate of the LGBTQ+ community, he officially came out in 2018 as pansexual. Reportedly, he told Pink News, "Yeah, I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don't care." Moreover, reports say he made a donation of $1 million to GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network), an organization focused on creating inclusive and safe environments in schools.

While the original set of allegations on the micro-blogging site have been deleted now, Breezy Weekes — wife of bassist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist Dallon Weekes — responded to a tweet that read: "Remember when Z*ck H*ll commented on my t**s and called me "b**b girl" at a Panic! at the Disco concert? Not knowing if I was of age or not. Because I do." She said, "I'm so sorry this happened to you, I can relate. I had to put up with sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior from him for almost a decade. I had no choice but to tolerate it and keep my mouth shut so that Dallon could keep his job."

The band's silence over those claims has been a pressing problem. However, many fans of Urie are now backing the singer. Slamming the cancel culture, Twitter users are saying that he is being unfairly treated on social media. Thousands of social media users are now divided over the musician who is the only remaining member of the pop-rock band.

"Sorry but #WeStandWithBrendonUrie. I’ve supported him for so long and always will," one tweet read. Stressing on the fact that there was literally zero proof for the allegations, one fan said, "Me seeing #westandwithbrendonurie trending with people shitting on Brendon even because a couple of randoms accused him of sexual exploitation with 0 hard proof."

However, some didn't take the singer's side and recalled past problematic incidents. Nevertheless, those tweets were not connected to sexual assault allegations. "Remember when Brendon lied during EVERY performance of Girls/Girls/Boys that HE wrote the song and was called a gay icon for it WHEN HE DIDNT EVEN WRITE THE SONG! Mr Dallon weekes wrote and produced the song in its ENTIRETY and Brendon got ALLL the credit #westandwithbrendonurie."

Many were simply confused about what had really transpired. "#WeStandWithBrendonUrie what did he do?? Genuinely I'm confused I've heard lots of rumors but what actually ~happened~." Another tweet said, "WHY IS #WeStandWithBrendonUrie TRENDING WHAT HAPPENED." One Twitter user posted: "What happened with Brendon Urie?? Can I see some proof with some of the things that he done? Like what did he do? #WeStandWithBrendonUrie."

Clearly, there is no proof for any of the allegations or claims and it seems like the artiste is being mistreated on social media for no reason.
