Brenda Song confirms engagement to Macaulay Culkin after ring triggers speculation for months
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taking to Instagram, Brenda Song has confirmed her engagement to Macaulay Culkin. The couple has been together for some time, having first met on the sets of Seth Green's 2017 comedy-drama titled 'Changeland', who, according to Esquire, said in 2020, "I didn't see that one coming."
Since then, they became parents to a son in April 2021, naming him Dakota after the 'Home Alone' star's sister who died in 2008. It had earlier been speculated that the duo got engaged earlier this year in January and that Song had been spotted wearing a big, shiny ring. However, neither of the two had confirmed the news back then. Now, in an Instagram post advertising her wedding collection, Song made it official.

"I am so excited to be launching my @amazonhandmade wedding collection today! Being engaged and wedding planning has been amazing, I can’t wait to share all these beautiful handcrafted items with you! This curated collection will help you find the perfect pieces for any wedding day, bridal shower, bachelorette party and more!" read the caption of her post that serves dual purposes - an intimate announcement and an advertisement.
While the post does not mention Culkin's name anywhere, nor does he feature in the images, it can be assumed that the other half of the wedding party is only him. It would certainly be a shocker if it were someone else entirely.
Besides, the couple, who both got their big break as child stars, frequently post pictures of one another on their respective social media handles. Take for example Song's post thanking Sesame Place San Diego after their son's first birthday. 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' actress wrote an adorable caption that reads, "Thank you sooo much to all the amazing people at Sesame Place San Diego for making BOTH my boys’ dreams come true and for hosting the most magical first birthday for our son! We had so much fun!" The same photograph was also shared by the 'Home Alone' star.
In an Instagram post celebrating Culkin's 40th birthday, Song wrote, "Happy 40th birthday to this magical being. I could sit here and write endlessly about how wonderful, kind, loving, genuine, loyal, honest, brilliant and hilarious you are, and how grateful I am that I get to share and do this life thing with you. But firstly, that would take me an eternity and secondly, you won’t even see this because you don’t ever use instagram. Hahaha. My unicorn that I never thought could exist, I am luckiest person in the world because I am loved by you."
