Brad Pitt to burn rubber in real F1 car while Tom Cruise's F-18 was grounded during 'Top Gun: Maverick'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After delivering the blockbuster 'Top Gun: Maverick', Joseph Kosinski is ready for his next venture. This time, he will direct a movie based on F1 racing with Brad Pitt in the lead. There were reports that Lewis Hamilton may have a cameo in the movie as well.
Kosinski, surprisingly, has decided not to cast Tom Cruise despite their successful collaboration. According to reports, Hamilton is actively involved with the project and provides feedback to ensure the story was authentic.

Brad Pitt to drive an F1 car
The untitled racing movie is currently in the pre-production stage and will see Pitt actually driving a Mercedes F1 car designed for the movie. The movie will use a 6K camera to provide clear views from within the vehicle's cockpit. This will be fascinating for Pitt's fans because stars rarely get to drive genuine cars for movies.
Interestingly, Cruise was not allowed to fly an F-18 fighter jet during the filming of 'Top Gun: Maverick'. While there is no official word on why the Navy denied Cruise permission to fly, insurance concerns and the high cost of the aircraft could be the factors to blame.
Tom Cruise and John Kosinski collaborated in the past
Kosinski cited 'Grand Prix', the iconic racing movie directed by John Frankenheimer, as his major inspiration for his upcoming racing flick. Cruise has reportedly expressed his willingness to drive for the upcoming movie if required. Kosinski, who has helmed successful blockbusters such as 'Oblivion', 'Tron: Legacy' and 'Only the Brave', is now considered one of the most sought-after directors in Hollywood, particularly after the success of 'Top Gun: Maverick'. It is worth mentioning that Cruise and Kosinski previously collaborated on 'Oblivion'.
Are Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise feuding?
Pitt's and Cruise's alleged rivalry is said to have started during the filming of 'Interview with the Vampire'. Pitt, who gained recognition after starring in 1991's 'Thelma and Louise', was cast opposite Cruise for the horror movie. However, the two reportedly didn't see eye to eye from the start, fueling speculation about their competitive natures.
Given the dark tone of the movie, Pitt had been miserable during filming and Cruise was not exactly a comfort. "He bugged me. There came a point during filming when I began to resent him," Pitt said at that time, according to YourTango. He added, "He's the North Pole, and I'm the South Pole." That was the last time they collaborated.
