Brad Pitt who once called himself an atheist now 'clings to religion' and believes that 'we're all connected'
Brad Pitt is presently starring in the latest Quentin Tarrantino movie titled 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
As reported by GQ, Pitt who had split up with his long-time wife Angelina Jolie in 2016, revealed that he is "optimistic about the possibility of connection." He continued that he had been "through everything" and tends to cling to religion.
"I grew up with Christianity. Always questioned it, but it worked at times. And then when I got on my own, I completely left it and I called myself agnostic," he added. "Then I called myself an atheist for a while, just kind of being rebellious. I wasn’t really," he continued.
Pitt revealed that he eventually found himself coming back to what he truly believes in. The 'Ad Astra' actor also shared that he had tried a few spiritual things but it had not worked out. Despite that, he believes that "we're all connected".
He also shared that he wanted to make his life as interesting as the movies that he stars in. Pitt said, "Leo and I were having this conversation the other day. I hit this point in the late ’90s or early 2000s, where I realized I was chasing these interesting [roles], yet I was failing to live as interesting a life as I thought I could."
He also admitted that his current mindset is fixed and if he is able to live an interesting life then the rest will take care of itself.
He further revealed that he is often drawn to people who have no filter and are authentic. "They have no filter on their thoughts. They sometimes get in trouble because of that, but I adore them. I adore that they’re just so open and raw about their feelings at any moment," Pitt shared.
During the interview, he also spoke about self-awareness, getting old, and trying to figure out what really matters. He shared that the older one gets, each gets more aware of time. "Who you spend your time with, how you spend time—it has just become much more important to me," he shared.
